Remember in the late seventies and early eighties when nearly every band needed to have a crappy synthesizer opening to a single that really didn't fit. Where it just seemed like the band just saw Star Wars, did some acid and decide to noodle around on the synth and tag it on the beginning of the track.
I remember Steve Miller did this a lot on "Jet Airiner" and "Jungle Love."
Does anyone have any particular annoying synthesizer opener they hate?

Can't think of one that I hate, but I love "Jump" by VH.

Actually, The Cure made a career out of useless synthesizer openings. I kinda like that, actually.

I know that The Moody Blues did this extensively with songs like "Your Wildest Dreams" and "The Voice"

Missing the most obvious one. Europe's The Final Countdown.

The opening is actually the only good part of that song.

Hey whatever floats your boat. I'm sure everyone will be playing double flying V's in your band too.
