The present and future of the Aftermath line:

First of all we want to emphatically say thank you.

Thanks to every single person that shelled out money for these books, signed up for the street team, pushed these titles in your store or sent words of encouragement ... you all rock.

We appreciate it, a lot. The response has been great and we've enjoyed bringing this universe about.

Now for the sharp end of the stick ... at this time, our plans for the Aftermath Universe are going to have to be delayed.

Dossiers is still on the schedule, but the remaining issues of the
current series, the crossover title, the planned ongoings and the trades
are all going to be put off until early 2006.

This isn't what we wanted to do, but it is what we have to do at this time.

We offer our apologies for the disruption, and the assurance that it's only temporary.

Again, you've been great.

yours,
Devil's Due Publishing

Now I'm getting real worried:
When were the last comics from Studio ICE published? Why is UDON (Street Fighter; Darkstalkers) absent in Previews since two (!) months? Why did Artxilla obviously move to Image? G.I. Joe is getting relaunched, Reloaded was cancelled (so were Voltron and micronauts) and now THIS! Oh boy! :(

I'm a little confused. Isn't Devil's Due also responcible for Dynamite too? Or am I off on that?

Oh. Now that you are mention it... Dynamic Forces and DDP joined forces as Dynamite Entertainment to publish "Army of Darkness" - but DFE has split from DDP, taken the D.E. name with them are are publishing "Red Sonja" and the recently mentioned "AoD/Re-Animator" comic book on their own. :(

It's impressive that you can follow their moves.

I wonder if retailers can, and can be bothered to? The smell of instability probably keeps their orders lower than they could be.

Interesting... maybe they bailed when the bailing was good? More ominus rumbles to add to the pile?

Shit!

I at least want to know how Blade of Kumori ends. I was REALLY enjoying that.

Doesn't look good for DDP.

Yeah, I feel the same way about Joe Casey's Infantry. Both the writing and the art are solid.

I don't know if I'll start picking up the title when Aftermath resumes.

Studio ICE is okay. I just finished lettering MegaCity 909 #7 a few weeks ago. And just finished MU #4 last week.

It was my impression that DDP only packaged the books for Dynamite.

I'm not happy about this Aftermath announcement, though.

Sounds good. When is it coming out?

Hopefully we'll get the final issues of Blade and Infantry, but I'm not holding my breath. Too bad with the series. I really enjoyed them. Especially Defex.

If I remember correctly the "letters page" in the last issue mentioned that the book is just on a brief hiatus while they gear up for "Round Two"... so fear not! ;)

Best wishes,

You mean "Round Three", do you? The second arc was finished.
I'm just wondering if UDON is looking for a new publishing company.

And yeah... Megacity #7 shipped today (and will do so tomorrow in the USA). :)

damn i know they mention it in their letter but does that really mean the initial infantry, blade of kumori, defex, and breakdown trades will not be released until 06??
