I thought of this when someone asked me about Warren Ellis Iron Man, and i remarked "Warren Ellis wrote Iron Man?"
I remeber a time, around when Authority was "The" book, that Ellis was huge, and him being on any Marvel book would have been a gigantic deal, but i didn't even know the guy was doing one now, aside from Ultimat eFantastic Four, and i haven't heard word one about it.
Then, i noticed the reaction to Morrison doing DC work wasn't anywhere near what it was when he did X-Men, or even when he originaly did JLA. And then i thought, maybe it's because he isn't using characters as big as X-men or JLA.
And then you have Bendis, still writing 90% of the comics marvel puts out, but are they selling because Bendis writers them, or because he's writing the big books?
Or are they the big books because he writes them?
It might just be because im becoming burned out, but has anyone else stopped buying a book simply because a certain writer is doing it, and is hoping some new guys pop up soon?
