Crisis inspired by Zelazny?

Found a thought-provoking comparison between DC's Crisis on Infinite Earths and a similar event that took place near the end of Roger Zelazny's first Amber series. Given that Zelazny's book was published just six years before the Crisis, I think that the connection is likely. The comparison also mentions Zero Hour and Hypertime, but fails to mention that DC published an adaptation of the first two books of the Amber series in the early 90's.
