Hey there
Was wondering who everyone's favourite New X-Men: Academy X character is?
I voted for Rockslide. For some reason he really interests me and I really like him.
Am really looking forward to the Hellions mini series, the've got so much story potential!
My second choice would certainly be Kevin. I hope he finds someone to be with and cheers up. I'm actually a fan of him and Mercury.

Whilst I like Sofia a whole lot, I've built up quite an affection for Kevin. I hope he's moved along in a direction that marks him apart thematically from Rogue, but so far I see more potential for stories in him than most of the others.

I voted for Icarus, even though my favorite is Dani. It would actualy be Rahne if she was still there.

Josh. The kid is really a lot like me as far as trying to discover himself. Early in high school, I played football even though I hated the game. I beat up freshmen and other kids younger than me. Then I took a theatre class and realized that I loved it even though my other friends looked down upon the theatre kids. I cheated on my current typical cheerleader girlfriend with one of the theatre girls. By senior year, I quit football entirely and got engaged with my theatre girlfriend. I realized who I was and who I was trying to be. That's why you might hear me defend Josh's actions so much in other threads.

Dallas! Dallas! Dallas!
Of characters that have actually had screen-time, probably Julian. Very three-dimensional.

I really like Surge. I'm a sucker for speedsters.
Prodigy is a VERY close second.

Out of the main cast, (NM and Hellions) I'm not interested in them at all. None of them are interesting to me. Except maybe Dust as she does have potential, in powers and stories, I think.
Characters that I currently finding interesting, Dallas (he's the shaodw guy right?), the Flame guy - Ben and Megan the (Welsh, I think) Moth Girl.

Yeah, Dust is cool I guess. Hope they use this character well this time.

Hmm. I think my favorite has to be Sofia. Though I also really like Luarie, Cessily, Julian, and Jay.

Just as with earlier characters, there's a lot of potential with all of them. It all depends on how long DePhilippis-Weir get to stay on the book and whether or not they have something lined up in that time.
I picked Wind Dancer because she is something different in the X-books. There really hasn't been a Hispanic character in them (Sunspot, who is Brazilian and speaks Portugese, doesn't exactly count other than being from Latin America). I'd be fascinated in part by the conflicts which could be raised considering her family background and some of the situations which could come from her Venezuelan homeland.
(Besides the economic situation, what else could've made her uncle not want her to stay there? And what about her father?)
As a second choice, I'd have gone for either Wallflower, Hellion or Dust. But this was one option only, so all I can say is the situation with the evil daddy for the first one, the Magneto-fandom of the second and coping with American culture for the third deserves some playing out.

Julian. He's a snarky, arrogant little jerk, but he's fun. I really like where the book is going with his character.

My absolute favorite of the book is Julian. I just love his character and how sympathetic he can be yet at the same time, you just want to dislike him. As for the main six, I have to admit to liking Josh the most. I do like Sofia a lot, as well. Laurie just gets on my nerves, and David's kind of...out there. Jay and Noriko are pretty spiff. I also really like Kevin and his emo-ness.
As for other characters, if I had to pick ONE favorite (just because I love obscure characters), it'd have to be Dallas. He's so freakin' gorgeous and makes me think all the wrong things. *sigh* I can't wait for him to return. I also really like Hope from the Paragons. She has a cutsy, shy and sophisticated way about her.

I'm not voting, because new X-men is the WORST X TITLE EVER WRITTEN!!!! SUCK IT CAL!!!!!! SUCK IT CAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's uncalled for man. If you don't like the book, at least offer something worthwhile. Not just say a book sucks like a troll. By the way, I voted for Icarus. Though if Beak were in the book, he's be my boy. :D

That wasn't neccessary. If you don't like the title, whatever, let others who enjoy it talk about it and have their say.

Julian's leading the pack. My favorite is Dani, she should have been on the poll. I like all the New X-Men, but I do have a problem. Jay has had very little spotlight up to this point, and so has Surge to a lesser extent. Those two characters need to get more involved.

+1 for Sofia, Bob.
I always thought it was cheesy when people said they related to a comicbook character, but her neurotic optimism/hot-headedness just screams Fad...La Fea.
Bingo!

I've been disenfranchised by the closing of this poll.

I guess I should be happy with a second place that is frozen in time.

LOL, once upon a time I liked Mercury! It's not that I don't like her, but she's nowhere near a favorite. Gah. 05 Jed was such a tool box.

I liked her alright until she became a subservient man pleaser. That bo bag had pheromone powers. Abuse them!
