I just heard a sentence fragmant on the news tonight saying as much.
Has anyone heard about this? Anyone know for what role?

I don't know, but if I were a betting man I'd say Beast.

He'd be a good voice for a furry CGI Beast. But my guess would be Bolivar Trask, assuming X3 involves Sentinels (which it should!).

You have got to be kidding me???
Jeez.
Hopefully this will prove to be UNTRUE.

He could be voicing Beast. Not a bad pick if that's the case. I hope it's closer to something like what they did with Abe Saipen in Hellboy. I can't see Grammar wearing the makeup. Who knows?
Someone at work told me a few weeks ago they were trying to get Phillip Seymour Hoffman for Beast. He turned them down.

Clearly a better choice. Too bad for us, the fans.
I assume it's makeup. I've read that Fox wants a little more realism for this sequel. Which is ok I guess, only if it can be executed properly though. I was all for a CGI Juggernaught, but it's been confrmed it will be a suit. The same will probably go for Beast. And I cant see Grammar in makeup.
Might be surprised though.
Grammar as Trask would make more sense.

Yeah I thought that would be cool. But I guess he didn't want to spend eight hours in makeup for a supporting role. I can understand that.

You never know how this goes. He could just do the voice David Hyde Pierce like David Hyde Pierce did for Abe Saipen. A good chunk of Nightcrawler wasn't Alan Cumming.
Wait and see. It's amazing what they can do.

Really? I don't see it.

Apparently this is true, he will play Beast.
Linkage here: Not here, that was a crappy link.
Go to the thread in the X-books forums abput this to see a section of it.
But I think this is a good casting. The Beast that I thought should be in the movie is a Beast that does more scientific stuff and not much fighting, if any. He's be perfect for this part.

We'll see. But I never thought Grammar would be one for 5-8 hours of makeup either. Oh well.

Anytime Grammar wants to play a villian, I'm on board.
Never thought of him as Beast, but I'll take the 'wait and see' approach.

Like David Ogden Stiers as J'Onn J'Onnz in the Justice League of America movie?

I could see that as I'd like to see him preforming some acrobatics. At the very least, reading a book with his feet. Does anyone know if this is going to be blue furry Beast or human-looking version?

I never would have thought of it but he sounds like a great choice. He's already done the "I'm smarter than you thing" and he has a good strong and proper sounding voice. Should be interesting.

Then again, he gets to have hair on his head in this role. You'd be surprised what balding guys will do to try to get back their hair.

There is that but Grammar is filthy stinking rich, if he wanted hair that bad he could have it. :D

I love Kelsey Grammar in Frasier...I'm sure if I will like him as Beast.
I will have to see the movie first.
His voice is pretty perfect, but im of course always going to hear beast voices as the cartoon versions voice.

Speaking of which, am I the only one bothered by Storms voice? It sounds like sort of like a bad over the top radio DJ. I sometimes expect to hear her break into "Sunday SUNday SUNDAY...."
sorry, done picking nits. I mean hell, I just admitted to watching the damn thing. :D

I can't remember. Did I see the second X-men movie? for the life of me I can't remember. Can anyone help me with this?
And if I did see the second X-men movie, did I like it?
And why does this matter to me so much?

I was surprised at how forgettable the second X-men movie was. An hour after I left the theatre, I could barely remember the plot. It was visually interesting, but the wooden acting made it all seem as meaningless as the nightly fireworks show at the Minnesota State Fair.

My first choice for Beast was Abraham Benrubi, but Grammer certainly fulfills the criteria that made Benrubi my ideal. The only down-side, is that I always wanted him to play Hank Pym, and now I'll have to find a different actor for that!
Although he has the perfect voice, Grammer is how old? Hank McCoy is in his 30's. Grammer's age may shatter the illusion he is indeed the Beast...

If it is true, about Beast.... Awesome casting.

It'll be interesting to see Grammer all dolled up in the blue fur, or will they try to CGI it?
Somehow whenever he speaks "smart" dialogue, everyone in the theater will still be thinking, "Hey, Hank McCoy sounds like Frasier Crane."

I recall you did enjoy it and found it very memorable. You said there were images in that movie that will remain fixed in your memory as classic movie moments.

I don't know, when I watched the A&E movie Benedict Arnold I was able to completely forget that he was Frasier.

I wonder if they're going to go with "classic" Beast, or the current catlike version.
I'd prefer to see the older one, and I'm pretty sure that's the way they'll go. One, easier on design. Two, a more human face will let Grammer express emotions better.

Probably makeup. I think the Hellboy people are doing it.
sounds pretty awesome. Grammer will pull it off well.

I read it'll be a mix of the two. I hope that doesn't mean it'll come out looking like Cassaday's 'astonishing' beast...

I just hope they make him look different from Nightcrawler.
