NBC Hercules TV Movie: How did you like it?

I watched the NBC made for TV movie Hercules last night, and I was wondering what everybody here thought about it. And since I cant find any other threads about it, here it is.

Personally, I liked it. And before you say it, yes, I know, the only real semblance to the actual myths is mostly having a character named Hercules. But I still liked it. To me, it was a throwback to the old Harryhausen movies. Those didnt have much in common with the real myths, but they were still awesome.

It was actually a little more fast moving than the other network epics. Merlin, The Odysee, Jason and the Argonauts, IMHO, these things were so long and slow I could get past the first 15 minutes.

Anywho, I was just wondering what you thought.

I liked it. I thought the writers paint Hercules to be an idiot, but I liked it.

The only thing that I did not like was the balance between reality, and myth.
On the one hand they had two-headed serpants, harpies, and Centorians (sp?), but on the other, it was made out like the gods did not exist, and Cerebus was a legend. Which was it...did these exist or didn't they?

I thought it was great, but wondered when the Amazons and the girdle of Hippolyta would show up. Alas, they did not.

Only saw a few minutes. I liked the Odyessey and Merlin, so I probably would have watch this if it hadn't been on oppossite 24. I saw some the Hydra fight, I was rather surprised that the visual effects really didnt' seem all that much improved from Sorbo's Hercules of ten years ago.
But damn, that Leelee Sobieski *did* look hot. I was taken aback. I remember was in that stupid crazy trucker movie with Paul Walker, and I didn't think much of her.

Eh, I thought the effects were pretty cool. Better than the crappy ones on TLJ. Well, not that much better.

But hey, Leelee was playing a nymph. She better be hot, dammit. :D
