In the 80s there were a lot of lame pop songs by actors. Which of these four is your favorite?

Whichever one's the shortest.

Patrick Swayze did a cover of Hungry Heart?

Kill me.

And by 'me', I mean 'him'.

Actually it's a typo. I meant to write "Hungry Eyes."

I thought that was Eric Carmen.
It was, according to my mom's MusicMatch playlist. I think the song on the DD soundtrack Swayze did was "She's Like The Wind."

Eddie Murphy's song wasn't too horrible. There have been much worse songs recorded. Like Don Johnson's song.

Patrick Swayze wrote & sang "She's Like The Wind"--not "Hungry Eyes"--for 1987's Dirty Dancing soundtrack. Swayze has a nice voice for ballads.

I also like Bruce Willis 1988's "Respect Yourself."

Eddie Murphy basically sang a Rick James produced "Party All The Time"; heck, Murphy basically became a Mary Jane Girl because Murphy's song is all Rick James.

Don Johnson best stick with acting.

So far gasoline is winning.

Who sang "Hungry Eyes?" I thought that was Swayze.

So far gasoline is winning.

But it's such a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

Eric Carmen sang it. It's just after Patrick's "She's Like the wind" on the Soundtrack.

I liked the Eddie Murphy song.

By the way, Patrick Swayze had a much better song with the ballad "She's Like The Wind." I actually like that song a lot.

i liked tuesdays knight's stuff in nightmare on elm street 4. not that she was a famous actress, per say.

i also like olivia newton john.

and regarding "rock on," is that the song from dream a little dream? i have no clue who michael damion is, but i love that song. the whole ending "crazy joel with a gun scene" from dream a little dream is cinematic poetry. i love that movie.

It's a good song, but man, never play it after a breakup. That's on the list of "Songs to Kill Yourself By."

Yep. I bought it online and if anyone sees it in my room, I tell them my girlfriend left it there.

Funny, but just yesterday a friend of mine brought up "Hungry Eyes" being sung by Patrick Swayze and I had to correct him.

That said, what? No Xanadu on the list?

Does Rick Springfield count? He was on some soap opera, but he also kicked ass with "Jessie's Girl."

Olivia Newton John? Wasn't she known as a singer first?

Also Rick Springfield was never a huge box office name like those four guys.

Well at least you didn't pick "Hearbeat" who was the poor sap who picked that five minutes of audio torture?

Definitely "Party All Time".
It's the only song out of the choices provided that I can say that I actually liked and still find enjoyable.
I suspect that has more to do with Rick James than Eddie.

I picked Bruce Willis, cuz he seems the least likely to take himself seriously during the thing. But if Murphy's song had been "Put Your Mouth On Me"... :)
