i was reading some Wolverine backissues and theres this story where wolvy gets involved with some mobsters and the punisher gets pissed off at him for gettin in his way, so they start fighting through a shopping mall, all of a sudden wolvy gets the upper hand and starts pulling out some stuff that the punisher had in his backpack, between them a muscles magazine and wolvy starts harrassing him all the while pounding him.

so my question is, is the punisher really gay or was wolverine being an ass.

sorry i can't provide issue number i have a really bad memory, it all happened at the end of a story where wolvy gets involved with some mobsters. the only thing i can remember besides the fight between wolvy and frank was that at the beggining of the story the punisher says "i hate half days" (or half ass days, i know bad bad memory)

Wolverine was just busting his chops. Frank's not gay at all.

That was Tieri busting Ennis's chops, actually.

During the last PUNISHER series, Garth Ennis used Wolverine in a story and made him look like a complete idiot. It was a riot. #16-17, I think.

Anyway, Frank Tieri, who was writing WOLVERINE at the time, took offense and decided to retaliate by . . . well, writing that issue.

A little off-topic here, but anyone who's a fan (or wholeheartedly NOT a fan) of The Punisher should read Doom Patrol #45 from Vertigo. It's basically a one issue self-contained Punisher parody by Grant Morrison, and it's hilarious.

Frank Tieri on the whole thing, which was less of a big deal than people made it out to be (http://198.65.99.89/forums/showthread.php?threadid=990)

For anyone who doesn't know, all the superheroes that appeared in that Marvel Knights Punisher series looked like idiots. If you're not a Garth Ennis fan, don't take the jabs too seriously.

A little off topic ... Punisher: War Journal #6 and #7 include a decent story where neither Punisher nor Wolverine is a complete jack-ass, and its penciled by a pre-Uncanny X-Men Jim Lee.
