I had no idea until reading Salvaggio's article this week that Crusher Joe was set in the same universe (and created by the same author) as the Dirty Pair. Is this made particularly evident in either series, or just something largely taken for granted?
Given what Adam Warren has been able to do with Dirty Pair, I'd really like to see him take on Crusher Joe... but how unlikely is that? Has he ever shown an interest in the idea?

Never heard of Crusher Joe, what is it like? Oh, I watched all of the Dirty Pair original series when it was airing back on Showtime Beyond, including the updated one.

Well, I'm not sure about them occuring in the same universe or not(it's possible), but the first appearance of the Dirty Pair is in fact in Crusher Joe...
...As a movie.

It isn't so much that they're in the same universe as the fact that the Dirty Pair appeared in Crusher Joe, in the background as a movie, and were so popular that a series was created around them. As much as I like the DP, it's unfortunate that their popularity has eclipsed Crusher Joe. I think it deserved more attention than it ultimately received.
