CBS has renewed Guiding Light and As The World Turns through the 2006 - 2007 season.

The 8th edition of The Amazing Race will feature families of four as teams.

The May 24th episode of The Shield will be 90 minutes long and begin wrapping up the Antwon Mitchell storyline. Also, Glenn Close has informed producers she will not be returning to the show next season. (Not a big surprise because she had only signed up for one year anyway.

Carnivale has been officially cancelled by HBO.

Erica Durance and the producers of Smallville are in talks for her to return as Lois Lane for as many as 13 episodes next season.

Showtime will premiere two new sitcoms on Wednesday August 10th.

The first is Barbershop, the small screen continuation of the two hit movies. It picks up right where the second movie ended. It will air at 10 p.m.

The second is called Weeds. It stars Mary-Louise Parker as a single mom who turns to selling pot to make ends meet when her husband dies. It airs at 10:30 pm.
