Sorry Nikita... (the other thread)
I'm seeing Fantastic Four to see how they ruin Doctor Doom's origin.

The reason I'll see it, is because I know someon who puts audiences together for word of mouths and premiers, and he knows I'm a comic nut, so I'll get to see it, without paying. 3 of the 5 rolls are really mis-cast, and it just doesn't look that good.

I'm not! :D
Because it's a summer Marvel movie.
And 95% of the time, Summer Marvel movies kick ass.

Seconded.
Admittedly, this is coming from someone that loved the Hulk movie, but don't hold that against me.
I think that this is going to be an awesome, kick-ass summer action blockbuster. The effects look good, Doom looks good, Thing looks good, Jessica Alba looks:

DAYMN!
And in general, the complaints about things like Doom's origin or how certain characters were cast only makes me even more hopeful. The key word here is 'adaptation' which means 'changes.' Not every comic book movie can be 'Sin City,' and even they made changes. If they didn't, it'd just be a two hour slideshow of comic pages without sound.
In conclusion, Willie Lumpkin.

Strangly enough, I did as well.

Unlike most posters I don't view the FF movie as being strictly a soft-porn fun fest.
I want to see if they get the Pogo Plane right.

I can honestly say that I'm not all that thrilled about the upcoming FF movie.
I mean.........okay...
I think, with all my energy going toward Revenge of the Sith (which comes out ONE WEEK FROM TODAY!!!!! :D ), I have little else for any other summer movies this year...

Damn straight! Are they going to go with the 4 fins or 3 fins? I mean if they don't go with Kirby's original visualization the movie will be ruined! Everything else in it would be meaningless!

I can't stand Jessica Alba (as an actress). So she's clearly not the reason I'm seeing it. Though she does seem to know the role of Sue Storm well enough. But I really like Julian McMahon and Michael Chiklis. They're great actors. And of course, Stan Lee as WILLIE LUMPKIN. He will be fabulous.

Because it's the Fantastic Four.
Because it's the Greatest Comic Magazine.
Because it is actually looking like a damn good adaptation of the characters.
And pretty much because I'm a big FF fan.

I can get my Alba fix online so the reason I'll be going is because
1)It's a comic book movie
2)I like the 'FX' guys and want to see if Chicklis can pull off Ben (I think he will)
3)It's a comic book movie

You're not actually taking this Star Wars fluff seriously? I mean the movie is a sequel of a sequel of a sequel of a sequel. We're talking Jaws 6 here.
Get real true believer, you are a comic fan first and a Lucas fan second, I HOPE.
Get your priorities in order.

I want to see FF for two reasons. One, I'm a huge fan of the Jack/Stan Fantastic Four and I hope they pull off a somewhat faithful movie. And two, I'm a huge Jessica Alba um..admirer. The thing is, Jessica is the Invisible Woman! As an big um...admirer, I don't want Alba to be invisible.

Regardless, I'm willing to bet cash and credibility that FF is nowhere near as good as Ep 3.

Eh...powerful, egotistic generically eastern european guy has an accident that makes him all doomtastic... sounds alright to me.
Way better than trying to show that he was Reed's College Buddy who Tried To Ressurrect His Mom and Got Horribly Scarred and so he Travelled the World Studying Mystic Stuff before Welding A Mask To His Face and Showing Up Right After His Friends Get Superpowers.
That's one hell of a montage.

Bah...a CEO of a huge multinational corporation can be more powerful than a king of some fictional european country.
And technically, it's not organic. It's growing out of his skin, but it's still metal.

Do you mean masturbation? That's not really self-abuse.
Then you are doing it wrong.
Being that I'm not terribly concerned with Doom not being the great diplomat he is in the comic, I'm happy to hear that the Fantastic Four themselves seem to be pretty dead-on. The only think I really need to see to be 100% sold on it, is Reed's stretching. We haven't seen enough of it in the trailers, and I'm dying to see how it turned out.
