View Full Version : The New Fall Schedules
Deathstroke

Next week will bring the network's annual "upfront" presentations. The fall schedule announcements.
NBC will announce on Monday May 16th.
ABC and The WB are Tuesday May 17th.
CBS announces on Wednesday May 18th.
Fox and UPN unveil on Thursday May 19th.
Is anyone else better on how many reality shows the networks will be adding? I have a bet going with a friend of mine. I say there will be 7 new ones while he says 10.

Out of the on the bubble stuff...I only watch Eyes, Blind Justice, and Joan of Arcadia!
As for my thoughts on them:
Eyes: A really good show and its seems like NBC isn't even giving it a chance anymore. They took it off and won't air till "after May sweeps" (they said). My bet: we'll never even see the rest of the Eyes episodes and this show will be canceled. Oh well. Glad I didn't get too attached to it. Poor Tim Daly though. He just can't catch a break...(first Fugitive and now prob Eyes).
Blind Justice: Recently I've been saying to my dad, " I like Blind Justice, but I know its not coming back.." I've resigned myself to it. Don't get me wrong, I like the show, but I guess I can do without it....
Joan of Arcadia: Now this is the show I'd truly be upset about if they canceled it! I like this show ALOT. Its a great series and CBS would be totally STUPID if they canceled it! I can't believe the show isn't doing as well as it use too. I guess more people are watching the dumb reality stuff..*sigh*
As for the rest of the bubble shows, I'm amazed that that there isn't more of the shows that I like on that list. lol. There usually is...
DF2506
" So basically, I'm holding my breath for the May 18th CBS upfront to find out Joan of Arcadia's fate. *sigh* Though I am interested in what NBC, FOX, and ABC are going to do. As for WB, I only watch Smallville with them, and I won't be watching UPN anymore..cause they already canceled Enterprise. *sigh* "

American Dreams is pretty much a goner cause all signs, other than NBC's confirmation, have pointed to cancellation. It'd be a miracle if that even comes back.
As for Eyes and Blind Justice. Both haven't done well in ratings. And with what ABC (and not NBC DF2506 ;)) is doing to Eyes, tells you it probably won't return. I hope the airings of the remaining episodes of Eyes gets a spike in ratings, enough for ABC to make an exception and save it.
Blind Justice is a decent show but I won't miss it if it gets cancelled. It's simply not that strong of a show. And it's a losing battle against Law & Order anyways. But I will miss Rena Sofer and that hot partner chick of Dunbar if it does get axed.
Kevin Hill? That's the only show I'm strongly hoping will get saved. It's such a good show. Veronica Mars has been so good, I think people forget about another good show UPN has in it's timeslot, namely Kevin Hill.

I say Listen Up and Yes Dear are gone. Joan of Arcadia and Judging Amy are looking more like they will be cancelled.
Life on a Stick will be gone. I think Quintuplets will be too. Bernie Mac is 50-50. I think Arrested Development will be gone.

Jack and Bobby are gone.

This is one of the most depressing threads ever on this website! I thought Eyes was doing well? I remember reading an article that said it was doing pretty ok. I hope they hold on to it for at least one more season. THey have to give it a chance to grow an audience. I think Blind Justice was headed for cancellation from the word go. Who really needs another cop show? Oh going back to Eyes, I'm thinking maybe ABC wanted to try out Grey's Anatomy and see what it would do and when it became a huge success they said f*ck Eyes. Total bummer. If it gets cancelled I'll be really upset. Same goes for Joan of Arcadia, hopefully they'll give us a tv movie or mini series to wrap up the plot if they do decide to cancel it. Kevin Hill is also another show that is just so good. I think it's time slot is pretty bad. Isnt it up against Alias?Quintuplets is also a great lol funny show. Doubt it. Since the remaining episodes of Eyes will either A) Not be aired (most likely, imo) or B) Will air in the summer sometime (June or July) where hardly anybody cares and the show has already been canceled.
So Eyes prob doesn't have a chance. And I'm pretty sure Blind Justice is gone too. I'd be REALLY suprised if either one comes back. And of course, if they say they are I'd be like, " OH...here we go again....its going to be just like Tru Calling season 2..." *sigh*

Yeah, I've read about the possible June/July airings for Eyes. I really hope ABC DOES show it though. I think ABC is thinking about airing the remaining episodes in the summer to find out if the show is worth saving. The show premiered at mid-season so if it doesn't show up on their 2005 fall schedule, it wouldn't mean it's final. ABC can always premiere the 2nd season during mid-season like they did the 1st.

I think I read somewhere that Eyes did well during its premiere but sank in ratings the following episodes. Tough task going up against Law & Order and CSI: NY there. I don't know if Grey's Anatomy screwed Eyes, but it definitely screwed Boston Legal. At least both shows have been renewed and I'm glad for that.

it was pretty obvious kevin hill would fail from the get go.i mean how meany black hour long dramas have been made over the years? not meany, and most of those barely lasted a season.shows like,Frank's Place,Music,City of Angels,The Women of Brewster Place.theres exceptions like soul food, and new york undercover, but after kevin hill's gone thats it. i mean if a mixed show with a black lead like kevin hill can't make it then a prodomently black show won't stand a chance.

Kevin Hill lost me with the episode where he was suing an army recruiter that aired right after the episode where they took on the Patriot Act. I don't want political commentary from my quirky lawyer shows, I want quirky lawyer stuff.
And Eyes only got 3-4 episodes, that's not enough to judge a series unless they already hate it.

Joey has a 2 year deal with NBC. Thats how It was even picked up. Joey will be back next season but unless they give the family and Introduce charactors around Joey to prop him up , LeBlanc Is gonna go out there and lay a dud. The last half the year I stopped watching.
Thier moving the charactor towards Alex like I pretty much felt they would do at the start. Maybe next year Joey will become a father to help Introduce a new elemnt to his old charactor.
If Arrested Development gets canceled thats just wrong. Complete B.S. The Fox President said he wanted to keep the show and thats why he cut It down to 18 episodes this year so he could try and save It.
Maybe CBS , NBC or ABC will make a try at picking It up. If FOX does cancel AD , then thier In a bad shape because " That 70's Show " Is near death . Its on the creative decline with Grace and Kutchner wanting to do less shows.
" Stacked " Is a show that gets horrid reviews but has a good time slot. So beyond that and Animation.....what comedies does Fox have ?

According to E!, Arrested Development is 99.9999999% set up for not one, but at least two more full 22 episode seasons. Short of Rupert Murdock having Ron Howard's first born murdered. Rejoice! I think the 2 women are the best parts of that show. They lost Orbach which was a huge blow to that spin-off. I think NBC should have sent Jessie Martin's charactor to that show and paired him with another old cop. And hire a young punk Detective for Farina to play off of on L & O.

The kinda already have a "young punk detective" now, with Michael Imperioli 's(sp?) character, taking over for Jesse L. Martin for the last four eps of this season (he'll be back next season, just left to film "Rent"). Between the three of them, I'm sure some shuffling could be done to find a proper replacement for the second cop on L&O:TBJ (Cohen's character isn't working for me). But that's just wishful thinking on my part and they may keep everything as is.

House and Grey's Anatomy are two different types of medical drama animals. Grey's Anatomy is a drama but also more of a soap opera. And since there on different channels they can co-exist. I get the feeling, simply BECAUSE it's an L&O spinoff, TBJ will get an 11th hour reprieve. The days of giving fledgling shows a chance are basically over, but TBJ may prove to be the exception. May.
I am curious as to how the other L&O's rank in ratings, though. The funny thing is I always meet people who like just one of them, never all three (or four in the case of TBJ).

With Carter finally gone I don't think ER has 2 more years left in it.
That's what they probably said when Clooney, Edwards, and La Salle left too. And the show survived.
Besides, Wyle's exit isn't final. He's supposed to make guest appearances in the next 2 seasons (not to mention Danny Glover also).
The show isn't the powerhouse ratings it once was but is still one of NBC's most watched show. Its highest rated too. It averages 16.5 in ratings, pretty good against tough competition in CBS's Without A Trace.
I think it will be fine. It's more of an ensemble cast, not the Noah Wyle show.

I heard the opposite.
I hadn't heard anything. I said I thought. I have been known to be wrong before.

One of the best shows of the year. HOUSE. I hope they order 2 years of it. Grays anatomy is weak compared to it. very uneven compared to House. I love this Show. Time to pull the life support on ER they have a suitable substitute.
ER is still doing fine in the ratings and House has already been renewed.

It seems so wierd thier gonna pull the plug on a Law & Order. This Is so unlike NBC. Maybe they feel 4 nights of L & O Is overkill now.
You mean like a lot of viewers already feel?

Noah Wyle is supposed to appear on 4 episodes on each of the next two seasons. Danny Glover is set to appear as Pratt's father.
