View Full Version : Thanos vs Asgardian Destroyer
Lord Thor has Loki personally send the construct after him.
Scenerio battle, with Thanos's location being the same prison je took on Kosmos.
Who wins?
Thanos could try running, btw, if that seems most likely.
Could Asgardian Destroyer teleport?

Yes, I believe he can.

Hmmmm, with only Loki in it how powerful is it?

Probably not so powerful.
Thor >>> Loki
Thanos >>>>>>>>>>>> Thor
Thanos took on a Power gem enraged Thor and managed to take him down.
Other than that, Thor hates Loki. Unlikely they'd let him use the Construct.

-The Destroyer armor is such a high level artifact that Galactus himself kept it charged with only minimal power. He didn't feel comfortable giving it any more.
-To date, only the Celestials have been able to do much to it.
-It sliced Mjolnir in half with a single blast from its visor.
-When a visor shot was reflected back at the Destroyer, it came out completely unscathed.
-The armor, inhabited by a normal man, was able to completely and totally dominate Thor.

I think I can say just one thing that could end virtualy all Thanos battles in an instant: Reality gem.

Has he ever done anything really good with it alone before? I thought it's supposed to be danged near impossible to use without risk to yourself away from the Power Gem...

Thing is Thanos has NEVER used the reality gem to aid him in combat after the Infinity Guantlet Series, it is against his character to do so.
Iplace my money on the Destroyer, Thanos is good, but he ain't that good.

You know, I really don't think it matters one damned big who's animating it. Thor and Loki can do it better, stronger wills, Thor especially. Sif stopped it from going apeshit for a while. But I don't think it in any way becomes more powerful with different hosts.
Oh, The Mjolnir slice was from a hand beam. Take it with a graint of salt, a lot of things were very different back then. Hell, an issue later we saw Thor repairing his hammer in a steel factor in Pitsburge with human tools...

Wow, nice. I knew Galan how it for a while, didn't know he was apprehensive about it though.

Thanos was known to use the Reality gem once after the IG affair. He returned Mar-vell back to life using it, saying he was merely testing it to see if it could be controlled. Then after an exchange of words that probably got that chip on Thanos' shoulder moving again, the big Titan zapped Mar-vell back to death with the gem before putting it away.
I think that alone should show that with the level of control Thanos has, he can safely use the Reality gem without the presence of the others. Not to universal changing effects, but getting rid of just a single thing he could most likely do.

Well that's sort of true. With a strong enough will, the Destroyer is much more effective than it would be with a weak willed host.

Plus Loki should be able to use the Destroyer's magic to fuel his own.

thanos loses this.....and lets face it the arrogant bugger wouldnt even try to run...alltho isnt he still banned from dying or something? and an eternal curbstomp just seems cruel....but wait theres more, doesnt a "god slayer" or somethin like that take OVER the destroyer since he cant beat it? thanos seems smart enough to work that out

If this is a scenario couldnīt Thanos just try to push Lokis mind out of the Destroyer. I donīt know very much about eitherīs mental powers.

The Destroyer's biggest weakness is that the body of the host is vulnerable. If Thanos can find Loki he ends the fight if not it's a bad day for the Titan. But knowing Thanos he'd do something like bring the fight into Asgard out of spite.

Thanos knows when hes beaten. He knows how to run. or "depart" as he put it when he was fighting The Omega. the thanos/galactus creation if you didnt know.
yeah, the only way to beat the Destroyer would be to find the pilot. and Loki's simple minded for the most part, thanos would mind screw him.

Didn't Thanos need some heavy equipment to control the reality gem in order to ressurect Mar-Vell, or am I remembering some other instance?

Maybe Thanos can have The Destroyer step into his blood... :D

I can't say I'd ever use "simple minded" to discribe Loki. This is a guy who has plots within plots against Thor on a pretty regular basis..

Loki is not "simple minded", he's Thor's Doom/Lex type character. Not to mention his mental and astral forms are extremely powerful.

Which would do...nothing. The reason that worked for the Hulk was that the Maestro (Hulk from the future) was inhabiting the Destroyer, and the Destroyer knew they were the same being and brought both their essences inside. So unless Thanos is in the armor trying to kill himself, not relevant.
-It sliced Mjolnir in half with a single blast from its visor.
It's scarier than that, actually. The regular zap bolts it fires from its hands are powerful enough to slice through Mjolnir like a hot knife through butter.
The one from the visor can disintegrate entire worlds.

It's happened in much more recent fights with the Destroyer, too. As recently as the 90s, the Destroyer's hand blasts were able to cut through Mjolnir.
(They also blew through the Hulk like nobody's business.)
