My new literature class has assigned me stories to read off this web site called Sacred Texts (http://www.sacred-texts.com/index.htm). I found the site very interesting. It has a list of historical literature all the way up to Tolkien's works. If you have ever wanted to read translations of the Hawaiian Mythology (http://www.sacred-texts.com/pac/hm/index.htm). It's there. If you've ever wanted to see literature from any country or civilization it's most likely there.
