Okay, picture this one: You're young, single, and not broke, but boy, life would be easier if you had a little money. One day, you meet an incredibly rich person of the opposite sex. This person makes you an offer:
Agree to marry him/her and become the sole benficiary of his/her will, which he/she will never change. You don't have to lhave sex with him/her unless you want to; in fact, he/she will allow you to have an affair at any time, with anyone you choose, provided you be reasonably discreet (and he/she will gladly aid you in efforts to do so). Children are likewise up to you, can be fathered/mothered by anyone, and will be provided the best care and education. And you can continue to pursue your career if you wish, or live in a life of sinful opulance, if that's your thing.
But you will never love each other.
Do you take the offer?

But you will never love each other.
Do you take the offer? What happens in the case of divorce?

How old/ugly is the other person?
Do you have to live in the same house?

No . . .
But my answer probably doens't count since I'm married already . . .

I'd take it. It's not really a difficult decision.

Why the hell would this person make an offer like that?
The very fact that he/she would be such a complete doormat would send me running away.

no way in hell, I do NOT want to be the male version of Anna Nicole Smith
Plus, I've learned from personal experiences that there are always hidden little strings that you've never thought of before in that kind of situation

Well, your terms surprised me.
Basically, we're married only on-paper. Assuming I KNOW everything this person has agreed to WILL occur as-described... there's a good chance I'd go for it. Screw it.
I can fly to Minnesota or wherever the hell this person is, marry him/her (yeah.. y'know?), then return to where I WANNA live... and go on with life, as before.
EDIT: aww hell... "reasonably discreet."
No thanks.

Now I'm imagining you blond and with implants...
... this is not a good image, I assure you...

I have pictures to the contrary, and I will post them upon further protest or request, whichever comes first

You can still pursue your career, just go on a lot of "business trips."

Heh. What's funny is that the RETURN TRIP would be more "business" than the departure.
Still, wouldn't work for me. I wanna be free. Apparently in more ways than one.

Of course I'd do it. I don't have to do anything I don't want to, just marry this woman and go on about my life and have other relationships too. I'd just be married on paper and get rich.

No emotional strings, no real ties unless children are involved, a lifetime of security, both financial and situational. And a base for which I can build my career without suffering from money or living pratfalls.
Kinda boring if you ask me. But I'll bite. :p
