Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers (and grandmothers) here on CBR!

Today I took my Mum to a cafe for breakfast where my brother-in-law has a gig playing in a Jazz band and selflessly offered to sacrifice myself to looking after my Terrible Twos niece while my sister took her out for lunch.

What did you do for your Mum?

Very cool of you, Stony!

We took my mother out to dinner last week.

My parents are in South Carolina right now on vacation.

Happy Mothers Day to you mothers.

My family will be having a picnic for my step-mother and nana. It will be a fabulous time and a fabulous place. Don't know what's happening after that, though.

Church and brunch at my house for my wife's family, then off to my sister's for dinner with my family.

We spent most of Saturday cooking and cleaning.

Not a terribly relaxing weekend.

Wow, I'm starting to sound bitter.

Sorry, Mom.

My first mother's day gift to you was severe labor pains and a strange birthing.

but you got me! yay!

I'm sure this post will be less painful, so, HAPPY MOM DAY MOM!

I called my mother for mothers day and said "g'day".

I was working.

but I got in trouble because I didn't call her for her b'day which was on friday.
But I did try on saturday but didn't get through.

So now I have to get a killer gift/s.

I got my Mom a leather hat since she admires mine whenever she sees it.

I'll probably send one grandmother some money and call her (but not in that order). The other I may call.

My dad made her a nice breakfast and they'll be a nice dinner tonight.

My mom got the card this morning and next week I'm going to get her the shrubbery she wants for the front yard.

Happy Mother's Day Solaris!

I'm not there to do anything special this year though, like make her breakfast or watch Finn or anything. :(

Late last year, we asked my parents to move in with us because of their age and financial health. So today was a nice big family breakfast and a few small Mom's gifts for the two Mother's.

Later this afternoon we're going to my youngest sister's place for a family dinner. And now I know why I'm still fatter than I should be.... ;)

Happy Mom's Day to those of you here that qualify! To the rest, keep trying!

i just wanted to give a shout out to solaris because she is to me, the epitome of what a mother could be.She's certainly made me say "mommy!" a time or two.

But seriously, my brother and sister and I chipped in and got my mom a day at the spa. And I just talked to her on the phone a few minutes ago. Meanwhile, my aunt sent this e-mail out to the family's Yahhoo group, talking about her mother, who died a year before I was born: "My love also to all the children, most of whom I have known practically since birth. You have all been so special in my life. What a great crowd you all are! Makes me proud to be related to you. On this mother's day, as always, I think of my mother, and miss her even though it has been so long since she has gone. You would all have enjoyed knowing her, and she would have delighted in knowing all of you. She had a wonderful sense of humour, and it has always seemed a shame she never got to laugh at her grandchildren and watched her children cope with their escapades.!!"

I gave my mother a $20 gift card to Best Buy, because she's always buying new movies.

Then, we all went out to Olive Garden to eat.

I haven't had a chance to get my mum anything but that's ok because I have until Tuesday to think of something. I'm thinking a day pass to a spa

Ok I gave my presents already and it took me all afternoon. I bought gifts for my mom and my aunt who I live with because she's also been great to me for a lot of years

they both got chocolate coconut covered strawberries, and almond caramel covered ones, and a candy apple each from my mother's favorite candy store about 20 miles away. I also got them their favorite coffee drink from my mother's favorite coffee shop (which was another drive).

And then I gave my aunt a new coffee machine (with coffee bean coffee) and my mother a $100 gift card to her favorite perfume and make-up store
