I'll be part of a signing/sketching cattle call the Saturday AFTER the national FCBD (the owner didn't want to interfere with any plans people might have had for the weekend of Mother's Day).
So, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 14th, Yancy Street Comics in New Port Richey, FL will play host to:
TIM TOWNSEND
RON MARZ
GREG LAND
AARON LOPRESTI
DON HILLSMAN II
DEREC AUCOIN
MORRY HOLLOWELL
JAY LIESTEN
MARIO GULLEY
JIM FERN
SERGIO CARIELLO

I only wish I lived in Florida to join you. Would like to meet yourself and Greg Land one day.
Is anyone as nonplused as I am about FCBD? It was a good idea at first, but to me it seems the idea has run its course. I could very well be in the minority here considering there seems to be greater mainstream coverage of the event this year, but as a cure for that which ails the comics industry, I don't see how it's helped. Maybe my perspective comes from the fact that I'm not the target audience for FCBD. Maybe I'm just grumpy.
