One of my favorite artists! I hope his health stays good and he can draw a monthly... but it won't be EVERY issue...

I’m committing myself to about eight books a year plus covers

Yeah this news is pretty awesome. Perez is one of my favorite artists ever.

PS: I totally forgot about that kid Prez, but that comment made me giggle. :)

I thought he was retiring from doing the 'tights' thing...hmmm, what is that saying, "I tried to leave, and they just drag me back in".... ;)

Ooh, maybe "DC" means "Vertigo." :P

George Perez is the greatest, I'm glad that he'll be seeing steady work!

And Perez on Legion Of Super-Heroes would kick serious booty.

Put him on Outsiders, so he can draw Roy and Dick again.

I love that Perez is apologizing that he can only produce eight comics a year plus covers. These days, it seems like most artists are struggling to produce even half that amount (and most of these artists are half Perez' age).

Five-years is one hell of a commitment on DC's part, by the way. But Perez has definitely earned it.

BTW, for those interested, Perez did a run of covers for Legion of Super-Heroes (V2) in the early 80's. Just gorgeous. :)

Actually, I am looking forward to George Perez being back at DC and 8 books a month? Well that better than some of the newer talent that is out there and he has medical reasons for being late, what a pro.
I would love to see him do some LEGION stuff.. :D

Well... The Return of Donna Troy to begin with, but I think he is just going to be an inker for that one.

OOPS, I meant to say that. Putting out 8 books a year is still better than some of the other stuff out.

Years ago, a friend of mine had a page from the Baxter Teen Titans. IT was mostly pencils and I will have to tell you, in all my years of a collector I have not seen art that could compare to his. It was fantastic and I understand his only 8 a year but damn, it will be nice to see him doing stuff again.

He's gonna have to do an issue of Solo, that's for sure... I'd love to see him do a Vertigo book of some kind. Maybe he could bring back Crimson Plague? Though that might be more of a Wildstorm kind of book...

My problem with this signing is that Perez at DC is like Claremont at Marvel: been there, done that. Damn exclusive and talent swiping marathon, my dream was always for Claremont to do a long run on JLA and for Wolfman and Perez to do their takes on X-Men and it will never happen.

All I know is that the pages released so far for The Return of Donna Troy look fantastic, as good as anything I have seen from George. If this is indicative of the quality of the work he will be doing for DC over the next five years, then I can handle only eight books a year. :D

I buy any book Perez is on. Hopefully this means a lot of books of his in the next five years.

I'd absolutely love to see him on Teen Titans! I'm torn, because on one hand it feels like going back home. Already been there, and I'd very much love to see him tackle something he hasn't done.

On the otehr hand however, Titans has been the best it's been since he and Wolfman were on it, and I'd loveto see him working with Johns.

Maybe even just covers, should a monthly stint not work.

I think it'd be cool to see Perez do a run on some Wildstorm stuff.

Maybe an opening stint on Wildcats when they relaunch it. Or maybe some covers, at least.
