i saw this at the comic shop today and i was thinking about how reading the comics for crisis was confusing enough. i seriously cant imagine reading it in prose. has anyone read this? did you find it easier to keep up with all of the characters than in the comics? just kind of curious.

I didn't know it was already out.

I want to read it basically because its from Barry Allen's Point of View. Besides It might be good. I'll have to make a few calls in the morning.

I think it's interesting that 20 years later, Wolfman has put this classic story into novel form. Even more interesting that it's told from the point of view of Barry Allen. I'll wait until I see it marked down - $25 is a bit much to pay for it.

I'm about a hundred pages into it and so far it's pretty good. It is told from Barry Allens viewpoint as he is skipping around the space/time continuum following his death. It does lack from not having Perez's awesome visuals to go along with the story, but the writing and characterization is still pretty sharp.

Don't wait. We don't know how large the print run was from iBooks, but it instantly ran out. I found one shop that had one copy left and bought it immediately. I have missed out on things in the past trying to "time the market" but know that there are times when it's better to be safe than sorry.

I wasn't going to get this, as I had gotten any other comic epics adapted to novelization (Death of Superman, Breaking of the Bat, etc) as it was just basically a retelling of the existing story in prose to help bring prose readers into the comics world, or at least that was my impression.

The interview I read a little while back explained that Marv was telling this from Barry's POV (new) and in his estimation " 60 - 70 % of it " is NEW.

Sold.

I'm starting to read it today.

I like the fact that Marv Wolfman wrote it. They did the same kind of thing with the Kingdom Come novelization a few years back.

I found this yesterday at Barnes And Noble. Didn't even know about it until a friend told me he had it. That store might be a good bet if you are looking out for it. Amazon has a 4 week wait.

I had forgotten about that one. Did this one or any other novels have new stuff in it like the current Crisis release ? Is so I might have to get them too. This Crisis book was the first time I remember reading that it was a mix of established and elaboration.

I did buy the original prose novels back in the 70's that Marvel put out but didn't know any other new stuff had been released.
