Usually when I'm drawing, I listen my iTunes shuffle. Sometimes talk radio. Sometimes, I play Danny Elfman soundtracks. For some reason, Sleepy Hollow works for me.
Lately, though, I haven't been listening to anything.
What's in your CD player, iPod or computer?
I tend to listen to a quiet mix of classical or soft vocals if its music.
Many times I'm in the mood for Batman the Animated Series, Hellsing, Samurai Jack, or some other animated DVD playing in the background. Oh, I also have a ton of music video DVD's that I keep on at times, too. Those are the best because of the musical consistency and the occasional visual inspiration.

I listen to the neighbor's daughter screaming at her parents, throwing things, and then charging out of the house in a huff. That's my reality tv.
Oh and from my window I get to see all the people with dogs picking up their crap with plasticbag covered hands. How demeaning and respectable at the same time.
Otherwise...Joe Frank gets me where I need to be.

Call me an old man (go ahead,... it's true)... but not only is my art style stuck back in the 70's... so is my musical tastes.... sooooo it's all song's loaded up onto the comp... and let Itunes do the mixing as I relish in the Eagles, Beatles, Billy Joel (the older stuff), and just about anything that ya AIN'T gonna hear on today's ThumpBox stations...

I sketch, My husband paints, we listen to music 90% of our waking hours.
It all depends on what we are working on. In general, we listen to KORN-
MARILYN MANSON-ROB ZOMBIE-CYPRESS HILL-50 CENTS-BLACK EYED PEAS-
FABOLOUS-BLACK SABBATH-the list goes on,(mostly metal and rap).
~BUT~
I have come home unexpectedly early and caught my husband painting to JEWEL or AVRIL LEVINE.
When we are at the comic-cons, the CD player's a must. The first time I
did a sketch at a show without music in the background, was totally weird.
:p

No specific thing, unless I'm doing a piece that relates to a particular musician or band (like Monster Magnet, Guns N' Roses, or Kurt Cobain).

I like concept albums while I draw, especially the ones that tell stories because then it inspired me to draw a story, whether it be sequential art or a stand alone picture. So music that inspires... albums that are "concepts" such as Coheed and cambria, or Rush's 2112 (the whole albums not a conept album but the song 2112 is a 20 minute song telling a story) uh also Curisve- The ugly organ... aaand lately Dredg - Et cielo and lastly 3's (yes, 3 is the name of the band) "wake pig" good progressive stuff i tell you!
