I haven't been posting much lately, but I want to start a few threads on topics I am in to.

This is mainly aimed at Augie as he knows more about Liefeld then I ever thought about. In fact I can't even spell his name.

I am suprised he keeps getting work. His books don't sell that well do they? He is often late. And he seems to be still critically slammed. And this in particulary seems to be a really odd pairing. His style does not fit Geoff Johns in my mind.

Maybe he should be a cover artist for a run to see how that increases sales (Like Turner was used).

I was waiting to see who'd post this first. . .

His books do sell, I think. And putting him in for just a couple of issues with a long enough deadline means DC has a better than 50/50 shot of getting the work done on time.

Sure, it'll all look exactly the same as everything else he's done, but it'll get done.

For the two issues that Liefeld is drawing, it was reported that Gail Simone is going to be the writer while Geoff Johns gears up for the Infinite Crisis mini. Should be an interesting mix nonetheless.

While I'm not much of a fan these days, I'm willing to give Rob the benefit of the doubt for these two issues as it looks like he'll be drawing the new Hawk & Dove characters. The art can't be too bad if it gets turned in on time, Cyborg and Starfire look like adults, the rest of the Titans look like teenagers and he gets rid of the pixie boots he gave Robin in the pics posted on Newsarama here (http://www.newsarama.com/DC/liefeld/robtitans1.jpg) and here. And all the characters will resemble Cable facially.

I'm seriously considering skipping the two issues. I love Gail's writing but it's going to be ruined judging by those samples.

I wouldn't have guessed it was me. Guess I am making up for a lack of posts this last week.

I actually don't read Titans so this has no effect on me. At least more then curiousity.

And you'll rarely - if at all - see their feet. :p

I don't read this, so it's now biggie to me. Although reading the fans' reactions to it can be fun.

Well, I wanted to, but couldn't think of anything that didn't involve swearing. ;)

Joking aside, I'm more than a little annoyed. I love the Titans characters and got excited about Gail writing them (especially since I have been utterly disappointed in Johns's handling of them). Then I find out that Liefield if the penciller. It's my Action Comics dilemma all over again.

[writer I like]+[artist I dislike]=

Coming up next: Gail Simone revives EXCALIBUR with Mark Badger on art!

Or -- Gail Simone tackles the X-MEN with Fabian Laguna!

"A new era begins for everyone's favorite Dark Knight, as Gail Simone comes onboard to Batman with artist Roger Cruz."

"Things heat up for John Constantine as Gail Simone comes onboard to Hellblazer with penciller Richard Corben."

It's the kind of joke that lives on that borderline between funny and scary.

EM, who is going to be in trouble with the missus for that last one.

ROTFLMAO!!!

I couldn't recall "Fabian Laguna" off the top of my head, so I Googled him. Do the search (using the quotation marks) and see what the first two hits are. :D

And they say the 'Net is a large place.

Wow, either I'm spelling his name wrong or everyone else in the world wants to really really forget this guy quickly. . .

I happened to remember an issue of Wolverine he drew so I ran to my room and pulled the book out to check the name.

It's FABIO Laguna.

But it was funny to think that Augie was the only person on the 'net talking about him. And in my blog, no less!

For some moderately-related Google fun, do an image search for "Gail Simone" and take a look at the first photo it pulls up. Ironicly, NOT Gail. She comes second.
