Anyone else read this?

It was a mixed bag for me. Some of the stories were great. Other's I didn't feel much for the characters . . .

How does this compare to other comics or graphic novels in the "WW2" Genre?

I just got this for dirtcheap from a friend and I loved it.

I think that Ennis could probably write war comics for the rest of his career and do a great job with it.

I liked the one about the tank, and the one where the group hides out in a mansion.

Azzarello's Sgt. Rock was pretty good too.

I liked it a lot. I haven't read much of, say, EC war comics or stuff like Our Army at War or anything like that, but I have read stuff like Joe Sacco's Safe Area Gorazde, the British WWI comic Charley's War, and the aforementioned Vertigo Sgt. Rock GN, and it's every bit as good as those.

Tell me more about Enemy Ace.

Is that a Vertigo title?

Is it published in a trade?

Oh yeah, Garth Ennis' Enemy Ace books were fantastic.

They were originally released in two prestige format specials, and most likely collected. I can't remember offhand who did the art, but the dogfighting scenes were fantastic.

Worth seeking out, especially if you liked War Story.

Part 1 was drawn by Chris Weston & Christian Alamy; Part 2 by Russ Heath.

I liked the one about the tank, and the one where the group hides out in a mansion.

I believe the one about the tank was 'Johan's Tiger' although it's been a while and my coimcs are all 7000 miles away.

Good story and at the time was my first Ennis reading. I rather enjoyed it.
