You know, that's just what I was thinking. :) Joss loves me. Clearly.

Now, if I can only get a meeting with him to discuss X-Men and Wonder Woman, we'll be good. ;)

Trailer absolutely rocks, though. Most excellent.

I wish I could fast forward to September.

That was fantastic.

oooohhhh. That looks good.
Better then I hoped.

Now, lets see if the movie lives up to the trailer!

Its odd to be looking forward to a movie in Sept instead of all the big movies I am not that interested in (Star Wars, Hitchikers, Batman, FF, etc)

If Tracie won't hate you for not caring about HITCHHIKER'S, then I certainly will.

Ditto BATMAN BEGINS, actually.

Sabrina might have something to say about STAR WARS, too, come to think of it.

But SERENITY looks flippin' awesome.

Has anyone heard what movies will be showing this trailer, if there are any, in particular?

The movie does look great. My only complaint is that there was no Shepard Book and very little of Kaylee in the trailer.

Augie - the rumor floating around some of the Firefly fan sites is that it will be playing with Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy this weekend.

I believe torippu is right.

I do know that they said it would begin showing this weekend when they posted the news on the 25th that the trailer was being posted online the next day.

Don't get me wrong. The IDEA of a hitchhiker's movie makes me happy. I just reread the book a month ago because I was so into the idea. And after reading the book I realized how hard it will be to emulate the feel of that book into the movie. The humor is so much more about the sound of the book then the events (for me). And I don't think that 'sound' would work as a movie.

And so the movie, if it is good, will feel different. Or sound similar and not work. I hope I am wrong. But the trailer does nothing more then make me feel like it will be ok.

Batman Begins I would love to love. And I would love to excited. But I have never liked that suit. The rubber suit really does take away a lot of my excitement. Add to that multiple villians and too many stars, and I feel like it is a few strikes are already thrown. I hope again I will be wrong. Batman also suffers from the Animater series (Dini/Timm) that somehow became THE batman in my mind (ahead of any movie or comic I have ever read). A close second? Year One. So the movie stands a chance...but I can't be excited.

And Star Wars. Well I disliked the first two (finding the second one better, but still bad). I think the trailer looks great, but the trailer for the first two looked good to me, so I can't be fooled again. And no movie could save this new trilogy for me.

I should point out that I am going to see Hitchikers tommorrow at 2pm, and I already have my tickets for Star Wars opening night. And my younger brother is coming to NYC to see Batman Begins on opening night with me. So my level of excitment is a pretty moot point as far as ticket sales go. But in terms of me thinking about me talking to my friends and saying "I can't wait for X" only Serenity is currently making the cut.

Kevin, did you (or anyone else here) ever see the BBC mini series they made of the Hitchhiker's trilogy? While the budget and effects are strictly bargain basement Dr. Who-esque, I think they did a good job of interspersing the book entries with the main story. If nothing else, the way they styled Marvin gives me hope. Minimal touches, yet he looks sooooo down.

That defense aside, nothing comes close to my excitement for Serenity.

The original TV version of H2G2 is now available on DVD. Quite the spiffy package.

I will, infact, hate Kevin for not caring about all of the films mentioned.

:P

Well... less-so about FF, but I still hope that flick is at least ENJOYABLE and won't make me roll my eyes so much during it that I give myself vertigo...

I may join you in hating Kevin, if you don't mind.

Except for Star Wars Ep. 3. I am so remarkably conflicted about that movie, that I can't criticize anyone else's perspective on it.

And I WANT to love FF, and the most recent internet trailer helped, but still not sure about the storyline. :)

Wow. So much hate generate towards me....how sad.

I just got back from Hitchhiker, which lived up to my expectations of being ok.

I also recently watched the trailer for FF. And I just don't like the look or movement of the Thing. And for me the Fantastic Four lives and dies on the Things shoulders (sort of how I felt about Wolvirene in X-Men, except they got Wolvirene right).
However they made Sue look great. I think she will be my favorite part of the movie! And I am not just talking about how pretty Jessica Alba is.

It's a loving kind of hate, though.

See... I won't argue that the prequels haven't had their share of faults, but I just CANNOT help but get excited about Star Wars. ^_^ I'm an entire embarassment to the people around me when they play the trailers in the theater or on TV. I spew nerdiness.

And I WANT to love FF, and the most recent internet trailer helped, but still not sure about the storyline. :)

Agreed! The internet exclusive trailer WAS quite cool. I'm cautiously optomistic!

I have never seen it. I have heard mixed things about it. Some people seem to hate it for the cheesiness, and others seem to love it despite that fault.

I hear the radio play was great. And I have heard that the audio book is fun to listen to.

I wouldn't know.

I do however know that the Infocom game was as funny as the book with its own divergent storyline.

Oooh, the SERENITY trailer in high def in QuickTime7 is sooooo pretty. . .

Ditto BATMAN BEGINS.

Sorry, I'm having a computer geek moment here.

A friend of mine (who is a big Mac addict) has been telling me that the Serenity trailer, in high def, on his 87" monitor (OK, that's an exaggeration, it's something like 21~22") has to be seen to be believed. I'm so jealous!
