Considering the fact that I am in something like number 51,000 in the waiting list for Green Bay Packers' season tickets, I think I'd take the 90 days...

Judge to Woman: Jail or Packers Tickets

OSHKOSH, Wis. - It's a choice that could give pause to some Green Bay Packers fans. A judge ordered a woman convicted of theft to decide whether to spend 90 days in jail or donate her family's Packers tickets next season to charity.

Sharon E. Rosenthal, 59, took more than $3,000 from labor union accounts before she left the organization, according to a criminal complaint. She was sentenced Friday in Winnebago County Circuit Court on one felony count of theft.

Judge Scott Woldt offered her the decision to either serve the jail time or donate her family's four seats in the Packers' three-game season package to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The jail time or the ticket donation will occur as part of Rosenthal's overall two-year period of probation.

This is a no-brainer.

8 games, 4 seats = 32.

3000/32 = $94.

Pack has a decent year, that's below par.

I don't expect this to be a decent year for the Packers. Not that I'm a big fan of the Vikings or anything... I actually respect the Packers more than the Vikings. But Favre is not getting any younger.

Since she just has to give up the seats for the season and not her rights as a season ticket holder, I'd give up the tickets. She would still have the rights to the seats for playoffs and championship. If they don't go to the playoffs, then she didn't lose much this season anyway.

What's next, though? Gee, you have a nice T.V., so you have to give that to the sheriff's office for their break room or you go to jail.

If she chooses to keep the tickets and spend the 90 days in jail, I hope the judge is a dick and defers her 90 day sentence to begin in September during the season. Oh the irony would be delicious...

There's a secondary consideration to this:

The family.

Now, I'm betting the family is saying, "Meh, give up the tickets, we'll get 'em back next year."

On the other hand, if I was in her shoes, I'd feel guilty about the family getting the shaft from it.

Nah, I'd spend the 120 days in jail, I think, mainly on the principle of the thing.

EDIT: Then there IS yet another consideration...

Tax write-off! Donate, stay out of jail, and get a really nice deduction for this year...

You are obviously an evil genius. Consider running for judge.

I wonder what Steeltownr would do if he was in the position with his team?

I'm afraid that my judgements would make Judge Joe Brown look like Mr. Rogers.

The fact that fans In Green Bay worship at the alter of the Packers really drives this decison. I got a bet she'll take the jail time . Because ask most die hard cheese heads what they would do In this situation and odds are they'd pick to take the jail time.
