Well, do you?

I love them!

I find that most people either *absolutely* love them or *absolutely* detest them.

So chime in, folks. I want to know.

Of course I love them. I wasn't even aware of the fact that it was possible not to love them until now.

There was a gentleman (and I use that word in its loosest sense, as the individual in question was clearly the missing link between man and orang-utan) that I used to sit next to at work, who every lunch time used to tuck into a mixture of avocado, pear and prawns.

Now I've never tasted avocado, but I loathed this guy so much that it has, as a consequence, put me off the stuff for life.

Yes. I especially love guacamole. Even if it isn't smeared all over a hottie babe.

I love them! I get avacado spread, instead of butter, on sandwiches at lunch time!

mmmm..Avocados

Slice it open, slap the knife into the pit and twist to remove....a very light dusting of salt and you've got one hell of a snack!

chop some onion, a bit of tomato, some pressed garlic, salt, a dollop of lime juice and perhaps some finely minced jalapeno, smash it all into a couple or three Avocados and you've got some nice guacam-olé!

Can't be a self-respecting mexican if I don't like avocados. Or aguacates, as we know them here.

In guacamole they are truly sublime. They enhance a good grilled meat taco in most amazing ways. One flour tortilla, a smear of guacamole, grilled cheese, the grilled meat, some green sauce -spicy is good, mild is acceptable- and you're ready to go.

Simple avocado in a corn tortilla -the tortilla heated a little while in the stove- with just a dash of salt is a good, fast snack.

A sandwich -and a torta- made with ham, salami, cheese, avocado and beans is truly food of the Gods.

The slogan here is "Avocado: fruit's butter". And I agree.

Oh, and aguacate comes from the náhuatl word "ahuacatl", (náhuatl was the ancient aztec language) which was their word for "testicle".

Yummmm...avocados....aguacate.......

I LOVE avocados. I am a Southern Californian though, and it's almost a dish all by itself. There's so many different types of guacamole alone. I also like Avocado in scrambles, in salads and on burgers.

Yum.

I don't even know what they are.

Fruit, vegetable, nut, bean, legume?

I don't care for them. Which, if I'm right in remembering how fattening they are, is a good thing for me! :D

That's how I feel about mayonaise.

I can't say that i love them but they are excellent in guacamole sauce. I don't enjoy eating just the fruit though. It's best in some food preparation.

Avocado juice is my favorite drink.

Seriously? Why?

I guess I'd drink avocado juice if I was dying of thirst and my only two choices were "avocado juice" and "rat semen", but that's about what it would take to get me to drink it.

My love for the avocado reaches into many foods. :D

Obviously, there's Guacamole. But it also makes a great combo with smoked salmon and cream cheese. This combo makes an excellent sushi roll-(usually called "Philly Roll")

Last weekend I tried an avocado spread on some cheeseburgers I was grilling and it was delicious. Avocado worked well as a sauce, because it has a nice, subtle flavor - unlike the strong flavors of mustard and ketchup which tend to overpower any flavor the burger might have, IMO.

Edit: Oh, and one more thing. Try avocado sliced with red pepper sprinkled on it. It works as a spicy snack, but the fruit's properties make it balance out the pepper well. So you're not having to drink lots of water to wash it down.
