I loved the end of the mini sries read it. its great i will not spoil the comic for you so wait and see, it's not great but it's good.

If there's any good in the world, she won't. If there's any justice in the world, the Phoenix will burn right through her. (I know, I know, a girl can dream. ;) )

I agree. Issue 4 was a huge step down in quality. I'm not sure that the last issue will be able to resolve everything in a satisfactory way, but we'll see. And it started off so well, too... :(

This is kinda off-subject, but does anyone else think Mariah Carey looks a little like she's been possesed by the Phoenix on the cover of her new CD?

And she too seems to have risen from the ashes.....hmmm....

Issue one was spectacular. Issue two was just as good. Issue three got a little wonky. Issue four was something of a mess.

It all revolves around Grek Pak's misunderstanding of the Phoenix Force, and the editors' ineptitude.

However, I will say, aside from the convoluted interpretation of the Phoenix Force, (which I know is supposed to be the subject of the mini)m I have enjoyed the characterization and interaction among the other characters. I also love the art.

I see "Astonishing X-Men: Take Two" on the horizon...

Edit: Contrary to the popular conception that Jean's egg was on the moon in "Here Comes Tomorrow" from a retcon dating back to her first death, I speculate that this mini will truly answer the question of how she got there. Sorry, Jean fans, I doubt she'll come back. I see a lunar exile coming.

The Phoenix Force did somehow manage to get more complicated in #4, but I had other problems with the issue. Kitty's characterization was off, the "crush Scott's heart" plan made no sense (I mean, if Kitty solidifies her arm inside Scott so she can crush his heart, how is she not going to get hurt in the process?), and the Shi'ar commander's true motivation was unnecessary.

As long as Jean is alive somewhere and not languishing in the limbo known as the White Hot Room, I'll be satisfied. We all know that no matter what happens in Endsong #5 she'll be back in time for X3. :D

Land's art is worth the cover price alone . But I tihnk Pak is doing a good job still, some of it is a bit like WTF? but I'll wait until next week to determien what i tihnk of it as a whole.

I never really thought about it that way,(loving both Mariah and the Phoenix) but i guess you could see it that way, she always has a way of landing on her feet, it seems. Even when everyone sees her as washed up, and old, lets find someone new...kinda like the Phoenix.

I have to buy this to see how it all ends. My guess is Quentin gets the Phoenix Force, but is somehow neutralized. Issue #4 sucked, mainly because of the way Kitty was portrayed. But I still have hope that #5 is more like the early part of this mini-series than the latter.
