Puffy Treat

Bought this on a whim on Saturday.
This is not a compilation of the Van Von Hunter online comic strip (http://www.vanvonhunter.com), nor is it necessary to read the strip to enjoy book one.
(It takes place three years after the story taking place in the online strip, for those keeping score.)
I found the VVH story in Rising Stars of Manga to be fairly amusing, but nothing special.
This...had me laughing until it hurt.
It's silly, shallow, goofy, and very stupid.
Just like 90% of all fantasy quest/monster fighting video games/anime/manga/novels. ;)
Only in this case it's intentionally so! :)
Worth checking out.
The plot (not that it matters in a broad spoof like this) is that Van Von Hunter and his sidekick What's-Her-Name? must re-unite to stop their fey arch enemy from finding and using the evil Ebon Eye a.ka. the Black Marble a.k.a. "The Blarble!" to make the peaceful land of Dikay a place of darkness once more.
Ominous Cloaks, too-hungry minotaurs, amnesia, psychotic maids...this is one zany look at fantasy stereotypes.
