I don't know if this topic is cool, so I'll send a link to a mod to make SURE it gets smacked down as soon as possible (if necessary). I think it'd be fine, but you never know:
Which advertisers' products or services have you received? How'd it go?
It occurred to me, while searching for certain comics-related items, that maybe I should turn off my ad-blinders and consider some of the folks who advertise at CBR. I'm usually too chicken to just follow an advertiser's link and give up some $$$, but I made an assumption I'm not always comfortable with. I assumed that the association with a site or organization I'm familiar with oughta add to the credibility of ANOTHER site or organization.
So, anyway, I went to Grasshopper's Comics's site, found one of the things I wanted, and just received it about an hour, ago. I thought it might be worthwhile to start a thread where people share similar stories. Hopefully they end well, but it's valuable information in either case.
I guess we could widen our focus to advertisers from other comics-related sites, as well, if that helps. Whatever's clever. This may lead to folks finding comics stuff they couldn't find anywhere else, not to mention helping comics sites (/companies?) stay afloat.
