So I bought Vertigo: First Taste mainly because it was so cheap. I already had like 3 of the issues but I got it cause it was only 5 bucks and I wanted to try some series cheaply to see if I liked them.
And what happens? Another title is added to my pull list that's what. After reading the first issue of Y: The Last Man I went to Books • A*• Million and bought the first TPB.
Stupid Vertigo their like crack dealers, give you a sample then get you hooked. ;)
Anybody else fall into their insidious trap?

Nah, I'd read 4 of them. Never cared for Swamp Thing, and LDW isn't high on my "to try" list.

Well then Gremlin, you shouldn't try Fables, cuz you might OD on a great story and fantastic art.

Too late. The Last Castle did that. I've been collecting it ever since. :)

I finally tried the first Fables TPB and enjoyed it . I also gave it to a female non comic reader and she was in love with the art.

Which is kind of why I hate Buckingham. His art looks like a 50s romance comic. Which may attract some people, but annoys me.

I'd read most of the stories but picked up First Taste because it was cheap.
I'd surprisingly never read Alan Moore's Swamp Thing before, and really enjoyed the story, and assume I'll be picking up some of the trades eventually.
They need another volume of this, with Preacher, Lucifer, Hellblazer, Fables, Sandman, and something else.

I think i'll track this down, only read Y out of all 6 of them but I really want to read 100 Bullets, Swamp Thing and Transmetropolitian. Anyone know how much it is selling for in the UK?

I'd read issues here and there, but I took Swamp Thing's inclusion in "First Taste" as a sign that I need to go find the trades.
I actually breathed a sigh of relief too, when I saw that Fables wasn't included. I know I'll like it, and that I'll want the trades, but I can't a fford it dammit!
Stupid Vertigo.... ;)

Everyone get the Alan Moore Swamp Thing tpbs. They're simply fantastic and easily one of my favourite three series of all time.

the first trade/arc was actually drawn by Lan Medina, Buckingham drew the second arc

Surprisingly, it was hard for me to get into the Swamp Thing. I don't what what it was....
I will be starting to pick up some Transpetropolitan trades soon, though. That was fabulous.

Realized that later, but he still drew some issues, so my comment's still valid. :)
