Dreamwave Artists Forced to Foot the Bill

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From our 2005 Boards comes news from poster Lord Shockwave that a friend of his who did artwork for the now-failed and former Transformers licensee holder Dreamwave is being forced to "foot the bill" so to speak regarding all past shipping charges of his or her artwork up to Canada.

This claim was then confirmed by Guido Guidi, long-time Transformers Armada artist for Dreamwave and most recently, artist for the also-failed OTFCC.

Apparently, Fed-Ex has in their fine print that if all else fails, the sender is responsible for all charges. Artists are discovering that now not only are they owed possibly thousands of dollars in unpaid work, but they're getting stuck with the bill for shipping their unpaid work to Canada.

Let this news post serve as an informative and a warning post for all those in the community that did work for Dreamwave that included shipping materials via Fed-Ex -- you may be getting a bill in the mail soon.

EDIT: The anonymous individual Lord Shockwave was referring to was none other than Don Figueroa, now with Devil's Due and quite possibly the most popular (and most talented) Transformers artist to ever grace the community.

Don himself replied in the original thread to confirm this crap. It's bad enough to not pay your artists and then run...but to make them pay for sending you the art you screwed them on is ridiculous!!
