The M may well stand for Maximoff (Wanda's original surname) or Magneto.

It might also mean Mutant or Marvel, just as plausibly.

M is an X-Men character. Specifically she's a former member of Generation X and current member of X-Corps.

As far as we know she has absolutely nothing to do with House of M because she's a very minor character.

Marvel has purposefully kept a tight lip about what the M in House of M stands for. The most prominent guesses are that it could stand for Mutant, Magneto, or Maximoff. But it's really anybody's guess at this point.
