The Xenos

Could have sworn I already posted about this little title. Couldn't find if I did though.
Anyway, I really loved this little supernatual series. I must confess part of it is that I had a similar idea for a story. Growing up near Salem, I always wondered why there awas never an X-Filey or paranormal invesigator show or series set there. I thought of a husband and wife team, along with other characters, as a series. Well, it seems these guys, John Rozum (who I think did X-Files comics I have) and compnay, already beat me to the idea and did a damn fine job with it.
Set in the fictional town of Midnight, Massachusetts this series uses the rich paranormal and horror writer history of the real area. Now I don't know if people from other parts of the country would be interested in this, but they really did an excellent with this aspect and it presents a unique setting that I hope is appealing to others.
Plus the whole mythology with monsters is quite excellent. The designs and creatures are something. Of course a key part of the story is the aspect of the paranormal investigators being married. Here the husband is the magic spell user and intelectual and the wife is more about guns and beating the crap out of the monsters. Plus the conversatiosn and characters have quite a realism to them despite the unrealistic and fantastic events.
This was an excellent 12 issue (I think 12) series and was followed by a six issue mini. It was a pain to find. I happened to catch the initial series full run on sale and had to hunt down the last issues of the mini.
