So to no one's suprise Dragon has been elected President but early on in this issue it's clear the Green Guy hasn't claimed the title quite yet. Instead we get an amusing superhero edition of Crossfire between right wing mutant demon Rex Dexter (the former Battle Tank) and left wing Superpatriot.

We also get Jennifer who is making some good points about the safety of the Dragon household. Although she's been making these points for a couple issues now it's getting more then a little annoying now. But then again if I was living above a dimensional portals that frequently has monsters escaping, a pint size dictator who frequently makes weapons, a weird demon guy and the occasional superhero slugfest yeah I'd be nervous too.

Of course in this issue everything starts to go seriously wrong. Glum gives Angel a potion that makes her gigantic. And it has tragic results. Jennifer is injured and Rex is seemingly killed. So maybe Dragon should have listened to Jennifer.

We also get to see the Iraqi's develop a cool robot guy and it looks like Dragon's self appointed running mate cheated during the election.

Overall I feel the book is still getting over a rough patch. But it feels like Larsen is trying to find an appropiate direction for the book and just working out the kinks. The hints he give for the book post 125 sound intriguing.

Also the art is top notch this issue.

That Mr. Glum stuff needs to be wrapped-up. I did like the back-up story about Jennifer. Nice art that resembles Arthur Adams.

And what are the plans post-125?

I am becoming increasingly disappointed in the direction of the book generally. If Erik Larsen weren't such a stand up guy and true professional, I'd have dropped this book a year ago. It is hard to recommend it to friends right now. I am starting to tell people to go get the Gang War TPB nowadays (which I have reservations about as well, since the direction is totally different that the current stories...)

Erik is waay too busy running a business nowadays and I feel SD has suffered. I agree with what kopernicus says, and tho, I would not want to see Image fail, the stress is definitely affecting the quality of SD.

I honestly don't see SD "suffering" right now. It's really no different then it's been since issue #101. The issues come out less frequently, but the work isn't any shoddyer. Espessily this issue were the art was so good. However I do feel the "Family Man Dragon" era wasn't nearly as good as past "eras". But Dragon's always about change and one ruff spot isn't the end of the world. I have high hopes for "President Dragon" era. It could be really good.

I was a little disappointed by the art. But I´m excited
by the new development. I think Erik is once more taking
the Dragon into a new direction -- just one of the many
reasons to stick to this book. Where else can you find an
artist who´s always struggling for new ideas and new
artistic ways to express himself?
