Sorry, I didn't see this until after I posted!
I'd probably have to take up the entire first page with posts devoted to the master list.
Indeed. Though it would be kind of fun to see an entire page of links. Not for you, of course. ;) lol. I'm sure certain characters would warrant an entire post but you know how people tend to flake out as well.
If it is done, I definitely recommend you not shoulder it all on your own.

yeah, pryde, that's a lot of work for one person. I will do my best to help if I can.

Isn't there an individual "Draw me an X: "Insert characters name here" for every character already?

That's true but I think it would be kind of fun to have a Draw me an X: Challenge thread where everyone is driven to draw another piece. It might be kind of stupid though, I don't know. if we worked it out I think it would be fun.

I do have a suggestion for an X-jam is you are still looking for an Idea! The Jams and the Draw me an X are two things I like the most in this forum, and would like to see another soon-

Well, I was thinking this forum is filled with amazingly talent people, some are almost at professional level, and judging by the amount of artwork done in the previous Jam, It would be good to put it in a sequential manner.
I don't mean one person drawing a page, that would be a little bit too challengingly, but what about panels that put together form a story. I might also include a Jam of writers; most of the members of the forums are always coming with crazy storylines, why won't work suggesting panels that later are drawn by somebody, and create a fan-made comic.-
Just shoot it down if you think is stupid.

It's definitely not a stupid idea, I actually like it! I just don't know how that would go over, I think they tried it over at the artist forum but I don't how successful it was.

Actually it would be kind of great if we could partner this up with Project X-Over, have the winner of that competition write a script that will be drawn out by the artists of the board.

I was checking for that, is weird in a forum about comics somebody hasn't come with the idea before. Maybe by keeping the panels simple, not to convoluted or with too many characters on.

You could pair it with the next Project X-Over, if that happens. People can pick the best storyline from the competition.

That sounds very complex, and limits it to one winning story/writer.
Why couldn't it work just like a typical X-Jam where both writers AND artists chose random numbers, with the writer was responsible for penning a single-page short of that character for the artist to illustrate?
It would be like one of the old-style Hostess ads with Spiderman, or one of our wonderful forum spoof comics, or something that would appear in one of the recent Anthology title.
Perhaps you could do a test-Jam with just two or three willing entrants to see how it would go. However, I worry that an X-Jam with storytelling involved might be more of a Masters Class that would intimidate/exclude a lot of willing artists that do great work!

This is GREAT! Especially Angel. He's giving away some Hellblazer angels vibe.
Who's between Logan and Jubilee? Iceman or Cannonball? My money's on Sam.

It's Cable, he has one eye blank and is wearing Scott's visor around his neck, like Cable did after The Twelve and Ages of Apocalypse.

If you have 16-24 writers each writing a different page that storyline is going to be one huge clusterfuck. Also the X-Over competition usually consists of teams.
That looks awesome Twing!

Oh, no, I meant each single page would be independent of the others, in true anthology style. Like a single installment of the Slang/Leirus comics or Welsh/Spanish Cartoon.
For a quicky example: Panel 1: Storm is on a walk in San Fran, lost in her thoughts. Panel 2: a young girl passes by on a cell phone; she is saying she loves it in SF but she misses her family and the snow from back east. Panel 3: Storm makes it snow over the girl. Panel 4: They share a glance, Storm smiles and walks away.
Meanwhile. Twing. who was the ghost woman on the top right going to be?

OH. That would definitely work then. lol
We could just do a bunch of 2-4 page vignettes.

Twing you have some great work! I like how distinct each character looks and the collection of characters was a nice touch. HandDrawn4Lyfe!
Also, this X-vignette idea sounds pretty cool. People can finally make up and post the filler drama that they suspect the characters are up to that exists between actual issues of the books.

It'd probably be best if you organised and ran it in the writer/artist forum, and then publish the results in here. Slam down on the rules for how the page should be set - no writer allowed to do a twenty panel page, for example, and nobody allowed to write a story longer than a page.
There are eight X-Men titles at the moment, so let's say you use those as your basis. Eight writers and eight artists sign up to do a page each, and are asked to pick a number from 1-8 via PM. So the artist and writer who both pick 5, for example, will get let's say X-Factor as their title. The writer then has to write a one-page story featuring characters from X-Factor, and the artist will subsequently draw it. Keeping it to PMs keeps things anonymous, so not even the writer or artist will know who they're collaborating with until the page is published. If you want to keep it anonymous, that is.

OH. That would definitely work then. lol
We could just do a bunch of 2-4 page vignettes.
You got it all right; as I pictured it, they should be a simple story not longer that fours or five pages, each page consisting of 5 or less panels; that would be 25 panels tops, which is 4/5 less drawings than the previous X-jam; 100 Drawings made by 52 different artist.
Each Panel has a number and a description, like this:
For a quick example: Panel 1: Storm is on a walk in San Fran, lost in her thoughts. Panel 2: a young girl passes by on a cell phone; she is saying she loves it in SF but she misses her family and the snow from back east. Panel 3: Storm makes it snow over the girl. Panel 4: They share a glance, Storm smiles and walks away.
So each artist can pick the scene they want, or they feel they can do, it would result in a mesh of different styles, but it really doesn’t matter because we aren’t looking for anybody’s approval, it is simply fun-
Also, this X-vignette idea sounds pretty cool. People can finally make up and post the filler drama that they suspect the characters are up to that exists between actual issues of the books.
Exactly.

The writers & Artists forum is kinda… dead, and most users that participate in the Jams are more regulars or check more this forum. But the I agree the rules would be need to be explained considerately, thought the people of Project X-Over already got it round up, they work in teams and won’t be much different except that instead to come with issues they would write panels following the limitations previously mentioned.
And once again, it doesn’t matter if the story is wacky or too complicated, what is the worst that could happen?

Did this sketch of Psylocke and co. over at my friends place. I didn't get to finish the BG girls as I was already 3 hours into this. However I do like the way Betsy's costume came out.
http://bicworks.com/graphics/sketchs/vm-uasketch349sm.jpg
This was all from memory as I'm still re-designing her costume. It's an amalgam of her Hand, X-Force, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance uniforms with a spice of the Jim Lee X-Men uniform. Or at least it is in my mind. :p

Beautiful. I don't quite like the collar, but it doesn't bother me.
Also, I don't think she would need two swords.
Behind her are Rachel and Illyana ?

04-16-2012, 05:50 PM
Yep, yanapyrde's correct. That be Armor.
Glad you liked it, Nicoclaws!
The collar could probably go, it came out bulkier than I wanted and as for the two swords, the one in her hand is her favorite for slicing and dicing and the one on her back is the cheap disposable ones Warren bought her so she can throw. :p
