Buckle down your mortarboards, students of Marvel's merry mutants, 'cause we've got a summer crash course in X-Men classics coming your way!

Lesson #2: Think twice before inviting family over. A friendly house call from the Juggernaut or Polaris, the daughter of Magneto himself, isn't the summertime bliss the brochure may have described!
Lesson #3: Battling a bevy of baddies including Mesmero, Blastaar, the Red Raven, Warlock and Computo may cause cramps. Be sure to stretch before jumping into this pool!
And for extra credit you can pull an all-nighter with the origins of Iceman and Beast, along with a rare solo story featuring the Angel!
Consult guest instructors Jim Steranko, Barry Smith and John Buscema this July or risk failure at the end of the term. Dismissed! Collecting X-MEN (Vol. 1) #43-53, AVENGERS (Vol. 1) #53 and selections from KA-ZAR #2, 3 and MARVEL TALES #30

Essential Killraven was a surprise, but I'm still gonna get it ;)

Englehart & Rogers on Batman, has me seriously considering buying my first new comic in almost five years.

I'll definitely get the Essential Killraven and will probably pick up the Spider-Woman book.

I'm sure I'll eventually get around to getting the Sgt. Rock Archives.

I'm pretty intrigued by the X-Men Masterworks. I don't think I've ever read those books. I wish Marvel would Essentialize the rest of the early X-men run.

I have most of the stories in the Romita book. I suppose if I were to see it for real cheap, I'd pick it up.

I'm all over the Englehart/Rogers Batman, and of course Killraven. I am SO loving these 70's Essentials. I assume the FF stuff is being held for the movie... but I really want not just the last of the Lee/Kirby, but also that great climactic battle with the Overmind:

I love Stan and Jack but I think this one might just be my favorite FF story ever. Of course I read mine to tatters years ago, so the sooner it shows up as an Essential, the better I'll like it.

I have to say, Victor and Ben look like cardboard cutouts on that cover, though.

Is it really "Giant-Sized Spider-Woman"? 'Cause I really can't approve of messing with tradition like that...
Killraven will be an interesting compilation, but I imagine that one-shot Marvel Knights book is not gonna look so good in B&W. I see they're leaving out only the Alan Davis book, which, I believe, was a reboot, so I guess that's appropriate.
