They did! They were the following...

Cyclops
Jean Grey
Cable
Storm
Xavier
Iceman
Sunfire
Living Monolith
Polaris
Magneto
Bishop
Mikhail Rasputin

Apocalypse gathered them so that they could power a way of him transferring his soul into Nate Grey's body (or something along those lines). They defeated him, but Cyclops sacrificed himself, merging with Pocky for a time.

It wasn't very good. :)

Alan Davis totally dropped the ball with that storyline and completely ignored the seeds that Simonson and Claremont had been sowing for it.

I'm glad I missed it too. Hopefully Claremont can revive it and just say that the ones mentioned weren't the true 12 and the true 12 are supposed to be gathering for a different purpose.
