This week's intended lineup. This isn't finalized:

* A review of the twice-Eisner nominated graphic novel, TOMMYSAURUS REX.
* A look at what failed with the Humanoids books at DC.
* Previews of this week's Kirkman books: THE WALKING DEAD and INVINCIBLE.
* A few reviews of single issues from the past month, including SHAOLIN COWBOY #1 and THE NEW WEST #1.

Hmmmmm.....I don't know.... I think I'm looking forward to the Humanoids story most.

It was nice to see Tommysaurus Rex get nominated. I just won it nice and cheap on eBay the other day. I should get it any day now

I personally wasn't that thrilled with "Tommysaurus Rex". I really like TenNapel's art style a lot, and the basic concept is fun, but I thought much of the story was rather bland. I preferred "Creature Tech" over it.

As for the absence of "perceived political tracts" -- I don't know if you'd consider it political or moral or whatnot, but I thought the "bullying stems entirely from being raised by a single parent" bit was done fairly heavy-handedly, and it detracted from the story for me.

I've read it now and I was very impressed - The last panel nearly brought a tear to my eye.

I don't think the story was trying to suggest that all bullying stems from single parents. It was an individual case, and in this case the boy was obviously a bit messed up by his dad leaving.

I'll be more than happy for this book to win something. I haven't read Creature Texh so I can't comment on that
