I've just watched top Australian zombie/sci-fi/horror/comedy flick 'Undead' - and giggled & jumped all my way through.
Story was fun, special effects surprisingly brilliant and I really adored it.
If that's not enough to tempt you - see a grown man punch fish!"
Not to mention a zombie being taken out with a can of Redbull and a ballpoint pen! :)
Anyone else seen it?!
Fave line of dialogue has to be this stressed out policeman going nuts and saying...
"When I was a kid we respected our elders...now the're tryin ta fakkin eat us!"
Hee heeee! :)

Haven't seen it. I've heard mixed things about it but I'm a big zombie movie fan. All I need to know is: is it better than Versus?

Boo hisss.
Versus wasn't my bag I'm afraid but zombie flicks in general are big time my thang.
Not keen on the recent trend of super zombies who can sprint, fire guns and hold a mind numbing conversation on the issues of immigration and asylum seekers...
...hmm?, my bad thats the conservative party.

I've seen Undead and it's a pretty funny movie.

Was it a big release over there Cam?
How did critics & the public react to it?
Are any of the actors famous in Australia for anything else?

It's achieved cult movie status and most critics said they liked it, Lunar.
I've seen some of the actors in ads and bit parts on TV shows, but none are that well known. It was filmed on a an extremely small budget, so chances are most were just mates or family of the Spierig brothers, who wrote and directed it.

Those special effects were fantastic though, the creature effects very impressive (loved the bit where the zombie had the shovel in his head was trying to get to someone to eat them...and the shovel kept banging on the roof of the shop that drooped down...and on the thirs try when he went forward it levered his face off!) .. and the computer effects wouldn't be out of place in a Hollywood movie either.
I hear the brothers are doing a vampire flick next, which should be a giggle. :)
On another note, good to see you back on the boards in full effect Cam, you've been a lil quiet these last few weeks, youre one of my favourite people on here and well, I was more than a little worried. Hope this are well for you, my friend :)
I loved it. . .
and I'll even admit that when re-watching it recently, I actually UNDERSTOOD the big plot twist at the end that the Aliens were following the comet to CURE those who were infected, and by escaping over the wall, the "survivior" caused the infection to spread after the aliens were gone
somehow I missed that the first time I watched it. Still loved it tho.

I thought even though it was a giggle, the undercurrent of the plot was actually really clever. Great ending too.,..just when you thought it had finished! :)

Is this on dvd, or in theatres only? If it's the latter, it looks like Kansas doesn't have it...

I bought it on Bootleg DVD several years ago at a con. . . but I do believe it just had an "official" DVD release here in the States
