DC Countdown Question

Im usually a Marvel reader, but i saw a big ad for something called DC Countdown. Is this something that is coming out or is it something that has been going on.

open up almost any other thread on the forum, it will have something to say about the countdown. go to the dc site, its plastered with info on it, the 4 mini-series, and most other issues connected with it. look in the corner of your room, theres an o.m.a.c. camera. talk to your cat, shes following the story line.

The first issue just came out this month and DC has revealed it's full title to be Countdown to Infinite Crisis. It's 80-pages for only $1, and spawns four 6-issue miniseries, before turning into the Infinite Crisis miniseries.

so anyway...for the next 6 months several dc titles, (batman, superman, womder woman, flash, teen titans, outsiders, jla, jsa, birds of prey, ect...) and 4 new 6 issue mini-series will all be in close knit with each other as the dc universe several different problems that could end everything. "infinite cirsis", get it?
really though, just hit the dc site. alot of good info can be found there.
