They say that in issue #11 she gets a change that will affect her forever. Well I think I know what it is if it hasn't already been speculated.
(Potential Spoiler)
She gets a new power...which is
Sunfires.
Think about it. In her solo series she is teamed up with Sunfire and now on the solicits cover of X-Men 173 she shooting flames at Gambit. She has somehow absorbed Sunfire's abilities.

You'd be surprised how many epople make that typo.
Anyway. First, As you know, UTVol8102, Rogue can absorb anyone's power when ever she touches them, a cover does mean she will have them preminantly, she just may have borrowed them, #173 of X-men maybe related to Rogue series but not in this manner.
But another few things on this.
1) Sunfire's powers on Rogue would be good. Gives her her flight back.
2) I'm hoping it doesn't mean that Sunfire is taken out or comatised in the rpocess, Cody was but Ms Marvel was not. Hopefully he will still be alive a kicking and buring people in Japan for a long time yet.
3) And the most important. Sunfire's personality. The writer(s) of Rogue better remember that she absorbs memories and personailties as well. Sunfire in Rogues body not only would it get interesting as he doesn't really like the x-men, does he? But he's a male in a woman's body.

No, no, no, please, not another Ms. Marvel thing. It took YEARS to get rid of that!

I LOVE that idea....cause then Milligan has Iceman and Rogue, and then with Polaris...it's like the earth itself...oooh...I LOVE IT! YUM!

I wouldn't. I've literally been seeing people make it since I was nine.

I believe they re-iterated in the solicitation that it wasn't just one of those types, hype-wise... of course that's become about as cliche as saying it'll change someone forever... saying "and this time we mean it!"
My bet is that somehow... she gets her Ms. Marvel powers back and I'll be glad to see it, if just because it's so fully ingrained into my mind as what her powers are...
Huzzah!

If they want to do the element thing why dont they just kill rogue, who's been sucking ass for 10 years, and bring in sunfire to x-men.

I really like Rogue, and I hope she gets flight. It's sort of a classic Rogue thing, even though it's not technically hers.
Anybody think they were hinting at her flying with the cover to #7?
Oh just give Rogue back the original Ms. Marvel powers she stole from Carol Danvers. The editors are really making it more difficult than the situation deems.

You know what would be cool?
For rogue to go rogue again. For her to turn evil.
That would make great stories. :)

I like the idea of having Rogue with Sunfire's problems - flight included.

I don't collect the solo series. But I am a little confused. At the end of the xtreme x-men series, Rogue did npt have her powers and yet in X-Men now, she seems to have some of it back. When did she get her powers back and what exactly are her powers now aside from super strength and the original absorbtion ?
Thanks.

As far as I know, she only has her absorbtion powers. That's the status quo in her solo series, at least.
