The issue mad Blue look like a badass. I am a bit confused on where the last part of the issue took place and who the dragon is.

The only guess I have is St. George's Dragon, though it's probably wrong. Hopefully someone can clear it up.

Yeah, I assume, from the "St. George Syndrome" thing that it's the St. George Dragon, but who knows with Bill?

And Chernomor is from the Russian tale, "Tsar Saltan".

I liked the first issue of this arc since we haven't had much Fable Lands action since…ever. Except for The Last Castle and that was a flashback. Blue has alot of Fable tech with him so yea he is a force right now.

Aaaand we find out who The Adversary is this arc. Yay!

Man, I hate to say it, but the last few issues of Fables just haven't been doing it for me. The stories have been pretty good, but the dialogue isn't "clicking". Feels...I dunno...kinda contrived. The end of this issue definitely shows some promise for the overall arc, though.

That's the Witching Cloak that Blue was given in the Last Castle one-shot. It has invisiblity, teleporting, transmogrification, and who knows what else. It's supposedly one of, if not the, most powerful magic artifacts in existance.

Really? Where exactly was this said (that is was one of the most powerful artifacts)? That's very interesting.

This is continually one of my favorite comics out there, probably my favorite ongoing series (although it would be tied if Hellboy was ongoing, and not just two or three issue miniseries).

You kind of have to wonder, why the hell didn't they bust the thing out when the wooden soldiers laid seige to Fabletown (during the "March of the Wooden Soldier" arc, natch)?

Maybe Blue Boy was the only one trained to use it, and he would have needed to use his hands to "operate" it properly? Still, you'd think somebody could have benefited from its protective qualities anyway.

Blue was the only person who knew what its capabilities were in the first place.=

i know it came from the last castle, but what fable is it originally from?

I wonder where the overall storyline is going.

Arcs are all over the place in time. We know that Beast is Sheriff for at least 5 years, we know that Jack never returns to Fabletown.. All this giving away of information that should be in the future makes me wonder how we're going to slide back into the main story.

Most of the Seasons arc was focused at the Farm rather than Fabletown itself. Then the Jack arc was of course in Hollywood and took place over five years. And now we have Homelands, which will take place over god knows how long and may not even tie into the stuff in the mundy world for a dozen issues for all I know.

And then things seem to be rushing far more than I'd like. All sorts of interesting scenes in the Seasons were skipped over for the sake of the format - who didn't want to see the North Wind actually explain himself to Snow or say why he was staying or whatever? But then next month he's just all settled in.

I'm still really enjoying Fables, but some of these things just bug me.

I agree, i want to see more of the North Wind Snow dynamic. This is a book for me is more about the awesome details than a quick progression of the story.
