Fumetti.

Have any of you seen Dark Horse's MORBID books (http://specialtyretailers.darkhorse.com/profile/profile.php?sku=10-397) ? A second one just came out in the past month.

It's the most painful thing I've ever looked at in my life. Embarrassing, almost. Hideously cheesy looking, and not in the good way.

Avoid at all costs.

Urg. Yeah, I hadn't seen these before either. I'm sure there's ways to use a similar style well, but this ain't it. And even aside from the style, the story looks really lame anyway.

"One can only *imagine* the horror of the *chase* as the *thing* ran its pathetic helpless victim to the ground! Or if one *can't* imagine that, one could just look at this swell *picture*!"

That isn't even the worst of it. Bleah.

There is a sort of B-movie cheesiness that they're attempting to mimic, but even that doesn't excuse this. Seeing the full interiors on this book will only make it worse.

Never seen it, but heck, I trust you, if you say not to buy it, I'm fine with that.

brian vaughn has something on his site using the same technicques, only much better done... and it's the only time i've seen examples that looked good.

Oh, I've seen that! Thought it was pretty funny at first. Then I opened up the pages. Kind of went downhill for me there.
