Nice thing about this thread is the share'n, since,
there ain't no way to keep up on all the LOST related
items that show up.
As to what to do till FEB '08? Watch seasons 1 and 2 on
DVD until season 3 (expected 12/11) comes out.:)
Monday at 8PM? Last season, up in Ontario, I think it was
on Global and a full hour earlier than broadcast in the states.
Was lucky enough to catch it once or twice, but most of the
eps where watched on the net.

Millenium season 2 was amazing, had a great quasi-religious angle to it, which i really enjoyed.

09-29-2007, 04:01 PM
Yeah, I bought Season 2 even though I don't have Season 1 yet because of the Darin Morgan episodes. I watched those first and now I'm watching the rest from the beginning. It's kinda making me wish I had Season 1 to watch first, partly to refresh my memory on the mythology and partly because I had forgotten that the beginning of Season 2 is on the lame side and that Catherine annoys me. I just watched Beware of the Dog which was the first episode to go in a seriously Morgan-and-Wong-ish direction. They began to reveal the Millennium group mythology and it was one of the lousiest Millennium eps ever. It doesn't help that in the teaser scene, just as the tension is building, Brent Butt shows up. So for the rest of the episode I keep waiting for Brent Butt to show up again and do something funny. But alas, he never does. It would have improved the episode.
I prefer the straight-up horror of the first season, which did delve into the supernatural also, especially as soon as they brought in the awesome LUCY BUTLER. However, I recall that Season 2 gets better as it progresses.
We now return to our regularly scheduled Lost discussion.

Yes, Lucy and the fate of Giebelhouse (sp?) were a key part of why Season 1 was good..the season 2 episode with the religious artifact was such good tv, i had high hopes that season 3 would rock, which alas, it did not.
And yes, back to Lost..i have season 1 and 2 on dvd, but have never watched anything on the season 2 discs yet, and i've had it for 9 months...how good are the bonus features?

I'm assuming the features on the R4 set (mine) are the same as the R1 set, but they're about on par with season 1's features. You get a few pieces about the making of the series etc. and the blooper reel's not bad. I like that the navigation for the Special Features disc is set up as a Dharma Orientation film, that's probably my favourite part.
Oh, and in the commentary for the season 2 premiere, someone says "No one's asking about Jack's tattoos..." Funny that.

Whoa! Redbaz is one lucky dude. Lance looks great! There are rumours of a Millennium feature film, but alas they are only rumours. I'm guessing Chris Carter would prefer to tackle an X-files film first.
Meanwhile, the episodes of Season 2 definitely improve after the dog that is "Beware of the Dog".

Yes that is indeed my rapidly expanding self with the great Lance Henrikson. I 'm a huge fan of Millennium and met both him and Megan Gallagher last year in the Milton Keynes Collectormania event, and gave them both some painted artwork I did of the show. Actually, Lance is in Manchester at a similar event on the 17/18th November (http://www.collectormaniagmex.co.uk/). Hope to see some Hellboarders there!

I'm of the opinion that Megan Gallagher only gets better looking the older she gets.
On the topic of movies, I'd love to see Carter get back into it with both a Millenium and X-Files franchise. And for that matter if Abrams wanted to I could really get into a Lost movie at some point.

Millennium is one of my favourite ever shows, but man season three was awul. Season two had the perfect series ending, and really there was no coming back after that in any kind of credible way.
Also the X-Files/Millennium crossover made me sad inside. I mean as an individual episode it was kinda cool with the zombies and all, but as the last ever Millennium story and the culmination of the Millennium mythology it was beyond weak.
Sorry I came so late to reply!

Aw mate those pictures are awesome and i'm really jealous. I live in Scotland and i never get to go to these things. I wanted to go to the Milton Keynes event but it fell through... i had bought nice glossy pictures for Lance and Megan to sign and everything. Redbaz, you are one lucky dude.
Apparently the second X-files movie will be shooting soon in Vancouver (but of course, it may be affected by the writer's strike, so stay tuned).
I'd LOVE a Millennium movie.
But back to LOST, and still speaking of the writer's strike, apparently they have eight episodes in the can. Of course, the writing for the show is so intense that things could still be seriously messed up if the strike drags on for too long. :(
i heard that they may wait until 2009 to air the episodes:mad: i hope not

I am SO EXCITED about Lost 4, but also really disappointed that it looks like it'll only run for 8 eps, instead of 16. I just love any form of art set in a consistent, continuous universe, where there is so much to discover, rather than being spoon-fed everything.

I have not seen an episode of Lost and I am not sure if the fans here have heard this already, but we have some billboards in Portland, OR for Oceanic Airlines. It has a faux graffiti website of find815.com.
We are planning on getting caught up via Netflix after we are done moving.

Just when I think this show can't get any more mind-boggling it reaches a new level of "WTF?!!" Wow that was awesome.
Theory: Flash-forwards are to the middle of the series. The last part of the series will be the Oceanic Six (minus the one in the coffin) trying to get back to the Island. Hurley saves them all.
Also, I think there's some kooky fold in space-time going on. That wasn't exactly Charlie's "ghost".

Maija, I loved these:
http://lostpedia.com/wiki/Image:4x01_HurleyHO.jpg
* While playing horse with Hurley, Jack gets the letters "H" and "O". "H" is the 8th letter of the alphabet and "O" is the 15th - 815
* Behind Hurley as he’s freaking out over Abbadon there’s a small sculpture of the letters ‘HO’ on a shelf.
* Hurley mentions Charlie’s ghost showing up in the convenience store right next to the “Ho Ho’s”.

All I can say is it's good to be back on the island. Maija, with regards to your theory:
I think you're spot on about the time frame. It seems like the island is slowly wearing them all down, starting with Hurley.
So was that Jacob's eye or Locke's? I'm thinking that not only was it Jacob, but that Christian may have been the smoke monster. Probably not the case, but I do love an outlandish theory.

Regarding your spoiler: no I didn't see that coming! Crazy.
That interview is great. It gives a bit more support to my space-time fold theory. It sounds like there's a silver lining in the strike for them too with gaining time to clarify some things that have come up in this set of episodes.

Maija
03-07-2008, 09:16 AM
That being said, I can see where folks are going to have to side with one evil man against the other evil man.
Also it has occurred to me that as threatening as the Others have seemed all this time, the body count score is HEAVILY on the side of the Losties. Losties deaths at the hands of Others: 3 (including one Tailie who might not have even been a Lostie and one that was circumstantial). Others deaths at the hands of Losties: about a dozen or so.

So do we know finally know who the Oceanic 6 are? Is Jin really dead or do they have a special arrangement for people to think he's gone and why?
Jack
Kate
Hurley
Syid
Sun
Jin
Maija
03-14-2008, 09:35 AM
dogboy443, you might want to use spoiler tags for that. (spoil)your spoiler here(/spoil) but use square brackets instead of round.
@Mike: yeah, since he was on the panel at Comic-Con it's been obvious he's going to show up for months now. Then in the last week the CTV promos have all but said his name (and also revealed rather bluntly who the remaining two of the Oceanic 6 are).
From Lostpedia (http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Main_Page): the date of death on Jin's grave marker is the date the plane crashed. So what the hell might that mean?!
Mike Cross
03-14-2008, 12:48 PM
His name has been in the credits since the start of the year as well.
And, how do they classify Aaron? Oceanic Six +1?
dogboy443
03-14-2008, 06:05 PM
Sorry Maija, I didn't think I needed a spoiler tag for something that was just aired. On retrospect, Jin is dead and we were watching his flashbacks along side Sun's. I think Aaron doesn't count because Kate somehow sneaked him off the island. However on an another note, do we really think Ben has the clout to orchestrate 365 body's and a spare jumbo jet to appear on the oceans floor?
Again, not a spoiler, just a hypothesis.

I loved Home..what a great episode.
It was, by far, the creepiest X-Files episode I can remember. Maybe that's what makes the diorama especially hilarious to me :P
Yeah "Home" was banned for awhile (when I lived in Atlanta). It was keeeeer-reepy with the mom and the sons, and well I won't go further.
BTW, I feel LOST has kinda jumped the shark for me. I still want to see where it goes, but after watching an older 1st season episode, the last episode of this season seemed kinda silly and outlandish. I miss the uncertainty of "is this real or is it fantasy"
And now it definitely is way out there with an island literally ---. It would've worked better if there was some big cloud and when they passed through it, they couldn't find the island, instead ---.
There's a reason X-Files never answered "Are there aliens" in the broad daylight of the world.
Reasonable doubt is the best fuel for mystery.

Thanks for that article, alz. I didn't go to the Lost panel this year. The horror stories of panel line-ups and campers and people missing panels they'd waited four hours to see was too much, so I didn't even wander in the direction of Hall H, espeically not on Saturday. I figure that the obsessive-compulsive fans out there will have a detailed transcript of the panel online somewhere, but I haven't gone looking for it yet as I've got the con crud and just want orange juice and tea and sleep right now.

Otto66
01-01-2009, 05:08 PM
Remember, Season 4 was cut short by the write's strike so the 2 extra discs
make up for that. Sure its location, "how-dones" and bloopers, but, see, I am
a fan of that stuff. However, there is a piece that takes all of the flash-forwards
and puts them in chronological order and (for me) the Logisode "So it Begins"
was worth the price of the DVD collection.
Hope that helps.
