Or very own Patricia (BronteJD) and De Carabas (Eric) are getting married today. Quite the coincidence, isn't it? Not really. They are marrying each other.

Oh, those wacky kids.

So let's all wish them a long and happy and healthy life together. May it be filled with long boxes (whoops -- too late!) and all the craziness that life has to offer.

Congratulations, guys!

Congratulations on your wedding.

While it's something I would never do, I can be happy for your decision to go through with it! :D

Wow! And I drank lots and lots of wine last night! Who knew I was celebrating?

I hope everything was just the way you'd always wanted. Congrats!

I'm very very happy for them -- they didn't post at all to this thread yesterday. Their priorities were clearly in the right place. =)

CONGRATULATIONS, GUYS!!!!!

I'm so happy for you!!!!

I wish I could be there to celebrate your GLORIOUS union, but I'll just have to hug you EXTRA hard (as much as my frail form can manage, anyway).

SOOOO HAPPY!!!!!!

Patricia and Eric are the best! I love you guys!

Wow, thanks guys!!!

Yep. We're married now. It was an incredible, amazing, and oh my god EXHAUSTING experience. We didn't eat. We didn't sit. We spent the entire time talking to many people we're not entirely sure who they were. :) Friends had to be snubbed in order to talk to the people we didn't know as well, so they wouldn't feel snubbed.

Yes, bask in the irony.

But everything was absolutely lovely...there were little Wonder Woman and Batman statues next to the guest book, and the table names included: Gotham City, Metropolis, The Watchtower, Sunnydale, Smallville...

Yeah, we're geeks. But we're two geeks who found each other. :D

Thanks for all the well-wishes, it means a great deal.

{{{HUGS TO ALL}}}}}

This is my first chance to post and I wanted to say "Thanks everyone!" Patricia looked amazing (think Audrey Hepburn), I looked like a poof (stoopid cravat and morning coat), and we're told the beef was quite good (stinks that you don't get to eat at your own wedding).

Now begins the hard part: organizing two collections into one whole. :eek:

What? No pics? ;)

Man, that's gonna be some project! May the force be with you on that! How many books (combined) do you think you have? Will there be much overlap?

Although, would you believe, it seems as though someone stole our little Wonder Woman mini-maquette??? FROM the display table next to the guest book???

People suck. :(

Oh, and Eric looked Quite Handsome and Dashing. Ignore his comments about looking "stoopid."

We'll get pictures up as soon as possible...I'll link to them so that those of you who could care less can just waltz on by. :)

HOW COULD SOMEONE STEAL THE WONDER WOMAN MAQUETTE AT YOUR WEDDING?!!!!

I'm disgusted and outraged!!! May a hundred furious scorpibees descend upon this fiend (or fiends) wherever they may lie!!!

[flails arms angrily]

The Brides always look about a thousand times better than the grooms in my opinion. Must be the many varied options that the women get with the dress.

Btw, there's nothing wrong with morning coats - I quite liked my decision to rock the morning coat at my wedding!

Charles==>
Thanks!

Tracie==>
I'm still speechless. I open my mouth to say something, and just grunt or exhale.

Trip==>
I'm too thin to pull off the morning coat. I'm 5'11" and, depending on time of day, only weigh 155 lbs. Long and lanky made even longer and lankier thanks to the tails.

EM, wondering if "lankier" is even a word

OK, ok, I know the feeling. 6'1", 165 lbs (at the time of my wedding 5 years ago) - that's lanky as well. Luckily, my best man is about an inch taller than me and weighs about the same so I didn't look completely out of proportion to the rest of the wedding party!

Holy crap. You've since started to eat cheeseburgers, right? Because that's not lanky - that's scary.

I've got about three inches on you, and another 60 pounds -- and people still think I'm skinny.

I've put on about 20~25 pounds since then (and the majority of it since my kids were born for some odd reason). I like to think that it just took me a while to fill out.
