Ok, I know the board was all excited about Gail Simone writing Action and many were kind of, sort of, slightly down on Byrne being the art robot but considering the AMAZING work Byrne has been giving us in Demon and the last two issues of Doom Patrol who here isn't just a weee bit more excited about Action Comics? I was pumped, I mean you have one of the all time great Superman artists (That isn't as arguable as the writer credit) returning to the character he helped redefine for the new age and one of THE up and coming writers of comic books on an ICON of the industry and not only that, the artist is starting to show a renessaince in the work he has been producing! Could this be the Superman we have been waiting for since the end of Jurgen's glory days on the book? I think this will be the best the book has been since the Reign of the Supermen days and that was damn tootin stuff right there!

I'm QUITE excited for it!!!!!

Love Gail's writing and Byrne has been doing some awesome pencils lately... especially Blood of the Demon. If he IS a robot doing that quality work, I hope he doesn't have a malfunction!

I don't care what some fanboys say...

Byrne is one of the greatest comic creators of all time. I am psyched about him coming back to Supes. :)

...especially considering the last few issues of Doom Patrol and Blood of the Demon.

Byrne, Byrne, Byrne...

You all need to give Gail her due. She's the big reason this book will be good.

Oh yeah, Gail is hot and a great writer but she hasn't had a classic run on SUperman only to have her career falter and then make a triumphant return to Superman! Aside from that there were a LOT of people who weren't going to get Action Comics because of Byrne's art and I think a lot of people are starting to change their minds on that one... MWAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not a huge Byrne fan. Even his X-Men work takes a back seat to the stuff Claremont and Paul Smith did. I like Gail's work, but I haven't read anything of hers regularly since Agent-X. That said, I'm interested in seeing how they work as a team enough to give this run a couple of issues.

Well I respect Gail very much. I think she's a fine lady.

But that doesn't mean I'll be picking up the book. I like Greg Rucka and dropped Action three issues in. And I was really disapointed by Azarello on Superman. Does anyone know how much sci-fi Gail plans to use on this book?

This book won't matter. None of the Superman titles will matter. They'll be flying under the radar until Morrison's All-Star run concludes. They basically have a free pass until that time.

I was going to get this book, but then I found out that in June (or is it July?) that it crosses over with the other Superman titles and Wonder Woman for a four-part storyline. After getting early 90s flashbacks, I decided that I couldn't support it, so I changed my mind and will be waiting until All-Star Superman hits. But best of luck to Gail because she can really write!

Or, instead of being such a drama queen, you could just, you know, SKIP THE CROSSOVER.

Refusing to try out a book because one issue will be involved in a crossover is childish.

I'm glad to see that John Byrne is back on a regular Superman title. He's always been one of the best artists in the business. I'm glad to see him doing so much work these days. I'm buying it all.
