Can someone give me a Superman trade to read. I like the way he's written on the JLU. Where he's shown as a kind man but who isn't a push over.

I am looking for a book where Superman isn't portrayed as henpecked husband or an idealized left wing nerd or country hick. Basically nothhing by Jeph Loeb. Thanks.

Well, you could always read the JLU comic book, for starters. There's also the Superman Animated comic book series from the '90's, which I'm sure are available at comic book store back bins. Better yet, Mark Millar's run has been published a couple of years ago in different trade digests.

The JLA trade paperbacks (from "New World Order" to "Obsidian Age", specifically) portray Superman as a great leader.

Can any Silver Age fans lend a hand? Any other Post-Crisis recommendations?

*doesn't like a soft Superman either*

Thanks I like the way that Azarello writes Superman, even if I don't like the story. I'll check out Millar's stuff.

I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that Gail Simone's version of Supes will be quite good. I think her first issue will be out in May? Anyone know exactly?

Alan Moore wrote some pretty awesome stories Pre-Crisis. I recommend "For the Man Who Has Everything", and the two part "Whatever Happened to the Man of Steel".
