I received some disturbing news today. I found out that San Diego Comic Con International will no longer carry the largest comic book convention in San Diego!

Sources tell me that there is an 80% chance that it will held in Anaheim. This may be good news for some, but for San Diego this could be bad. Comic Con brings in much needed business one week out of the year to small businesses, hotels/motels, and to the convention center. It is feared that cost will go up because of the relocation. If it is more expensive to go, then fewer will attend, fans and retailers. This would eventually lead to no convention. Think about it. Los Angels?! Just imagine the traffic alone, not including the commute to and from the center.

On top of it all, it would be very sad to see it elsewhere. San Diego has kept it alive for the past 30 years, with no signs of it ever decreasing it's audience.

So please help in keeping Comic Con International in San Diego. Make yourself heard, and email them with your concern.

Make them Hear your opinion!

This rumor pops up like every year or so. I've learned to ignore it. Although WizardWorld LA is actually happening in LA for the first time next year.

Has there been talk on moving the convention? Are we safe for 2007?

My guess is that someone had their wires crossed when they heard that Wizard World LA is moving to LA this year. That's probably the source of your rumor, 4 9 guy.

I really have to wonder who this guy is that's asking. Especially considering the majority of his posts are in this thread. Why are you so concerned with this? What's your real reason? And why do you need to know about 2007 now when the 2005 show hasn't even happened yet? AND especially considering you're the one who floated the rumor without any sources to back it up.

Gotta think there's an agenda here.
