View Full Version : What is the one game you wish they would update?
Of all the video games on all the platforms (including PC) over the years, what is the one game you wish someone would do an update of? Feel free to list more than one if you can't decide.
For me, I would love to see Baseball Stars from the old NES system brought to contemporary platforms.

double dragon too.I never played Spatterhouse, but Double Dragon would be a cool game with new 3d graphics and more complicated moves. I'd buy it for sure. Good call.

lol i wish they made bomberman futuristic looking like how he was in the manuel.
this one werewolf game on the supernintendo or maybe it was original. anyway, u went from man to werewolf to super werewolf where ur hands were these huge spikes. and u fought slimey monsters that alos were like were wolves and other wolf like monsters. a 3-d one would be neat.

yeah, i miss bimmy and jimmy.
splatterhouse should work, with the success of games like doom, resident evil, devil may cry, god of war, etc. make a moody yet gory monster basher.

I'd love a proper remake of Star Fox, not the crap that's been pumped out since the golden SNES original.
Same for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; after awesome 2nd/3rd installments, how did 4 for the SNES onward get so lousy?

Final Fantasy Tactics (PS)
That's one I never played (a friend played it all the time though) but would love to see updated. It sounds awesome.

Games I want to see come back?
Battletoads. Remember that one, way back in the NES/Genesis days? One of the toughest damn games ever (every now and then, I still get nightmares about that damn snake level).
Chakan: the Forever Man. I was a sucker for this game, and the fact that a Dreamcast sequal was planned (then got canned) makes me a sad panda.
Eternal Champions. Sega's own cross of Street Fighter (with a little MK-like blood and gore). I marked out when I got my mits on the SegaCD sequel.

The Gameboy one(whichever one wasn't a remake, I forget the name of it) was actually harder than the NES game, if you can believe that.
Battlemaniacs for the SNES was the best one, though.
Ahem, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.
Did that game get less kiddy as you went on?
I played for maybe 20 minutes, when i turned into a bunny (or something), which followed a snowball fight, and lost interest.

The opening story is the most tiresome part of the game. The story's not nearly as mature as the first FFT but it's okay. I kind of like the "We're trapped in a game, we have to return to reality" idea.
And the gameplay is excellent once you get into it(if you like that sort of game, obviously).
The only thing I hate about FFTA is you only get two save files. I've seriously thought about picking up another copy instead of a new GBA game.

Yeah, and I wish I had gotten more chances to play it(it was at the local theater for a brief time). For some reason they felt like they needed to compete with Mortal Kombat or something. But it was very satisfying violence as I recall.

I'd like to see some of the old INFOCOM games updated with fantastic graphics.
The depth the games had in just text form, brough to life with interactive grpahics would be fantastic.
Another Fallout game wouldn't be bad though (no tactics).

Sensible Soccer
Fantasy Zone
Operation Wolf
Cannon Fodder

I want, nay need!, a new ShadowRun RPG.
It was one of my favorite games on Genisis and would love a new one.I never realized they made a Shadowrun game for any system. I used to play it many years ago with paper and pencil. It would make a very cool game today, for sure.

I wish that they would sit down and finall make Phantasy Star 5. Not this online stuff (while it's not bad).
I'd like a sequal/remake of Terranigma, which was a great RPG on the SNES. One of the few games to have a great plot, make you feel free and be deep and challenging with a great learning curve
How did I forget Starcraft? That is a game that they desperately need to update.

I liked to play a updated version of the arcade version of Dragon's Lair. I used to go to the arcade when I was a boy and my sister dated the guy that worked there, so it meant free credits. It was hard by any means you just had to navigate the story by pushing directions. But I loved watching the finishing the story. Just for nostalgia reasons.

That old SNK game Magician Lord
If we're going with old school NES games...I'd say Blaster Master
Namco's Rolling Thunder series would be a great James Bond-esque game in 3-D
Golgo 13
Rygarr
Faxanadu
Strider (If they're gonna tease everyone by just having him as a character in Marvel vs. Capcom)
