Has there been any word yet about when this game is supposed to be coming out on the Gamecube? I have been seeing things about it for a while now but have never actually heard when the game is coming out. Has Nintendo decided to just hold it back and not release it on the Gamecube and just wait and use it for whatever their next system is down the road?

Every time Miyamoto makes a game it's huge in one way or another.
Theres a theory that he could remake pong...like a direct remake, and many would still claim it's the greatest thing ever.
Now, i actually beleive that it would somehow be the greatest thing ever, but thats a different topic.

Its true, who else could have designed Pikman and made it into a game worth playing? Or made a Starfox with Legend of Zelda style playing?

And Alex the fact that you misspelled thought in your sig humors me.

Which one are you talking about? 'Cuz Rare made Starfox Adventures(which wasn't very good) and Namco made the latest one(which I've heard mixed feelings about but haven't played yet).

I believe it was Miyamoto who suggested combining Star Fox with Rare's Dinosaur Planet, though I'll have to look again. I thought it was ok, though I only rented it. And I'm currently immensly underwhelmed by Star Fox Assault and wish I'd rented it instead of buying it.

Yeah I know. I played it at a friend's house, it was pretty damn cool but I didnt have enough cash for a Gamecube AND new recording equipment. Being a fellow musician, you know how that goes!

The last boss fight is worth the hours of your life you pour into the game.

My only wish for this game is for it to be challenging. Wind Waker was way too easy...so easy it eventually got boring to me. And I used to be the type who got so pulled into the Zelda games that I could never put the controller down until I absolutely had to turn the system off. But both the combat and the mental stimulation took a bit of a dive from the previous games in WW.

And thank God we're getting a more realistic, grown-up game. Wind Waker technically had great graphics when you get right down to it, but personally I found the ultra-kiddie art direction a major turn-off.

They already fixed the graphics, if they fix the difficulty, and put as much work into it as they have the other Zeldas, it very well could be one of the best in the series.

this is gonna be the zelda that makes me buy the franchise again. I bought ocarina of time and skipped evrything after that, but after looking at the screen shots of the new game i might have to hop back on the band wagon

I'd actually prefer the combat system to be like a tweaked version of WW. As good as Ocarina of Time was, the combat in Wind Waker was Light Years ahead of it. It was just so much more fun to battle with enemies in that game.

Personally the grown up thing, and even the realistic graphics, they mean shit to me. It's a Zelda Game and Miyamoto is behind it. I know I'm going to love it from that. Hell I still love playing Link to the Past and the original Zelda. Personally I think the age of link and the graphics style is irrelevent to the franchise itself, and more relevant to the kind of story that the particular Zelda game is telling.

That said, I think the dark, war-like style of the games new look would be best justified if the story had something to do with the Imprisoning War, or something of similar magnitude. That's an interesting piece of backstory that hasn't been elaborated on yet. Many people confuse the Imprisoning War with the ending of Ocarina of Time, but that was not the Imprisoning War.

i thought the new zelda game had somethng to do with them rebuilding the castle from Ocarina of time?

Not sure where you heard that. All we know for sure is that the game is a sequel to the events of Wind Waker, or at least, takes place after WW. My immediate assumption from that statement is that it takes place sometime in the future after Zelda and Link succeeded in finding a new continent to call the New Hyrule (Following from the ending of WW). The new Hyrule, I would assume, is the one seen in the NES and SNES games.
